After installing this stabilizer, it lessened the "twang" vibration. I am a beginner and I think it helps me shoot a little more smoothly. It was easy to install. You need to test with the different weights to find your "sweet spot".

This is a good basic short (designed for hunting) bow stabilizer. There's no reason this can't be used on a target bow for field shooting or casual target shooting. A very serious target shooter would get a long stabilizer. This stabilizer can be broken down into smaller lengths, and the weight can be varied by screwing on and off the chromed metal weights. I've put this on a popular basic compound bow. Note that for this bow, the threaded opening to take a stabilizer has powder coating inside, put there when the coating was placed on the entire bow. So, I found the treading of the stabilizer onto the bow difficult at first. This is not a defect in the stabilizer. After screwing it in a few mm, I screwed it back out and cleaned off the threaded end of the stabilizer which had accumulated powder coating from the bow. After that, it was a breeze to screw in the stabilizer. The stabilizer has a metal core throughout it. In the forward part of the stabilizer (lighter black color), the core is surrounded by a coil that is covered with the lighter black rubber. The coil allows the forward end of the stabilizer to move and wiggle from the force of the drawn string as it moves through the bow. This slight wiggling movement will dampen the movement of the bow thus giving some stabilization.
