Great assortment of rivnuts in various sizes. I’ve run about 20 or so of these, using an Astro Pneumatic drill powered driver. They crush cleanly and consistently, no evidence of the anti corrosion coating flaking off or anything like that. Five stars in my book, great value and super convenient to have in the shop.

One of the best assorted metric rivet gun kit for threaded rivet guns using metric bits. Incredibly pleased with the amount that the kit comes with for each metric size. Like I said for the price you can't go wrong. I am going to using these to fasten some accessories to my car. It can also be used in furniture or other custom building projects. 5/5

Nicely made rivet nuts that work as intended. We'll see how well these will hold up. I'll follow up with updates if there are any changes.Overall I would highly recommend purchasing these 170PCS Rivet Nuts, Metric Thread Rivet Nut Assembly Kit, Carbon Steel Rivet Nuts, Suitable for Automotive, Furniture Decoration, Sheet Metal Assembly and Industrial ProductsFinally this review is of my own honest opinion & is not swayed in anyway by other influences.

I don't have any previous experience with rivet nuts. Seem like they might be okay - but you are going to need a rivet tool for these! I needed a blind-nut/rivet nut for my 2014 F150 tailgate to install a lift assist mount that was missing the blind nut. So I just needed to install one single rivet nut at the time, and didnt see the point in getting the tool for one install. I ordered this variety pack as it included the M6 size I needed and figured it would be handy to have the variety for future, or in case I had the sizing wrong. My plan, at least for initial use, was to install manually using the bolt and double nut method, but I just couldn't get on it by hand with any combination of wrenches, sockets, or even my Ryobi cordless or Mikita hammer drill without wrenching my dang hand off and things flying everywhere. As luck would have it, I got it on just enough that it wouldn't come out of the hole, but not enough to secure the rivet. It was loose in the hole (so that turned into a whole other project trying to get it back out). I ended up having to regroup and found some pre-bulbed rivets which apparently require less force to install; but If I ever get into another project where I need to do more rivets I'll be glad I have this variety pack on hand, and i will definitely invest in the rivet tool to go with them!

Didn't know these products exist until I went looking for rivets (thinking pop-rivets). As it turns out I could have used these a number of times over the years and instead used a functional but clumsy threaded rod or hand trimmed bolt with dual nuts to secure things to sheet metal. In my case assembling metal and composite sculptures. I don't have one of the purpose built rivet pliers for this style, so Instead I used a hydraulic press for a test with a copper sheet.First I drilled a hole near the corner of the sheet, as I would ordinarily. Next I built a jig with a 5mm bolt, a nut to adjust the height (set to where the bolt was only to the end of the threads and no deeper so it wouldn't bottom out before the crimp was flat) and found a spring to hold tension between the sheet and the head of the rivet on the opposite side. Then I put it in the press which crimped it beautifully in no time. The rivet flared out just as it should and pressed down very securely. This may be a corner case for most folks (pun intended), but it works for me just as I'd regularly use it - as I'm generally going to have a corner or curve or something to be able to put it into the press. If that changes then I'll invest in the pliers or fabricate something like a lever to use in front of the press for long & wide objects. One could probably just use a bolt + a nut and a couple of washers and tighten it down on the rivet head side, but the press is just so easy if you can fit the work in it. Bizarrely, a low end 6 ton press isn't that much more expensive than the better quality double leverage 16" or 17" tools, and a press is a multiple use device if you have room for it, not a single task tool like the pliers.Photos:1. Assembled in the press before compression.2. In press after seating the rivet, shaft extended.3. Resulting installed rivet.Nicely done and secure. Happy!

I recently bought a rivet nut kit with the setter and a few rivet nuts of each size. My kit does have a few metric size mandrels so I can use the five largest size rivets. I will have to see if they have a mandrel for the 3mm nuts. I never even knew this tool existed before a friend suggested using it to fasten the inner door skin to the door replacing almost twenty actual rivets in case I need to get in there again in the future. Why Mercedes uses rivets to attach the inner door skins to the door is beyond me, but I guess the figure nobody is going to mess with it themselves and just bring it to a dealer. They don't know us car guys at all.Since then, I find that I am constantly coming up with uses for rivet nuts and this kit covers the most commonly used metric sizes. Now I just need to find this kit in SAE and I will be set for rivet nuts. These rivet nuts are carbon steel and compress very well when used with a nut setter tool. They are mostly meant for attaching to thinner gauge sheet metal because the collapsable portion of the rivet is short. The kit comes in a clear plastic case with each size in a designated compartment. The price is a little bit high in my opinion as you can shop around and get a larger quantity for the same or just a few bucks more. But these are good quality rivet nuts and who knows what quality the cheaper ones are. For that reason I would recommend this kit if you were looking to boost your collection of Metric sized rivet nuts.....
