I'm less than impressed that batteries were not included. Seems not a very great way to start.

This review is for Awatin 2 Packs Carbon Monoxide DetectorsI really like the use of AA batteries instead of 9volt ones.I never ‘trust’ a “life saving” device without first testing it. The push button test is nothing but an alarm test. I tested the Awatin alongside a Kidde plugin model.I ran gasoline vehicles in an enclosed area to build up CO. I brought the Awatin and Kidde in for testing.The Awatin went off for quite a long time but not a peep out ofKidde so I pushed the button to see what level CO it detected and it indicated a 329 (and silent) while the Awatin said 213 (beeping all the time.)I suppose a –slower- response time means less false alarms.I personally prefer a faster response time

No frills here, no way to read the real-time value in PPM, only option is to test the alarm with the one button. I don't like that the mounting plate is the battery door, but I guess it's fine if you intent to wall or ceiling mount it. The included adhesive mounting donut is absolutely not going to hold this thing for long, especially with the somewhat high twisting force needed to detach the unit and change the batteries. Use the included screws instead.I wish there were more features like real-time PPM / a peak value function like I got from a cheaper unit that was overall better than this one. No way to verify it works unless I get a high CO reading in my place sometime.

These detectors arrived quickly and were easy to mount. We did the initial tests and they appear to work. We bought a package of two which is enough for our apartment. Those with large houses or upstairs/downstairs might want more. A very good price as well. We have peace of mind with these new detectors. Make sure your extended family has carbon monoxide detectors and that they are in working order. It seems there is so much on the news these days about carbon monoxide deaths which could have been easily avoided.

These CO alarms were so quick and easy to install. They came with adhesives and screws for the install. It only operates with 2 AA batteries so replacing them wont be a problem. This purchase gave me the peace of mind that my family is breathing safe air.
