These tin snips are very well made and should last for years. Sometimes you need to make left-handed cuts and sometimes, right-handed cuts. Since you get left, right and straight cut snips all your cutting needs are covered. They are very sharp and cut even the toughest sheet medal, as long as it's not too thick. The handles are made to be slip resistant and work very well, so you shouldn't accidentally lose your grip and cut your hand and, making them very easy to use. Since they are treated for rust resistance they shouldn't rust on you, but I still apply a light coat of oil on the medal, just because I keep all my tools oiled. Since you get three pairs of snips, it's a good value for the money.

Item description: left, right and center set of three aviation metal snipsBrand: CraftzoneItem: B0DR1YQ8LXDate received: 2025-04-03Headline - Exactly as described. Priceless for working with sheet metalProduct Claims1 package, 1 3-item set of left-, right- and straight/center-cut sheet metal shearsThese arrived in a nicely packaged flat corrugated cardboard box, each wrapped in a plastic bag. Each shear has a wide and long rubber comfort grip with a "tang" to prevent grip sliding toward the work product and a hole at the end to give you a hanging storage option. Each shear has a closure lock to keep them in a closed position for storage. The structural part of the handle is stamped steel, painted black, and they connect to the working shears which are forged Cr-V steel. The handles are interchangeable (should you need to swap one); it is only the working shear end that is different between them, and each set of shears is deeply stamped with L for Left, R for Right, or S for Straight cut (or center). These shears have a double hinge-point (the hinge your hand is operating is located about 0.9 inch behind the hinge point of the shears) to create a mechanical advantage in a smaller tool that is equivalent to a larger tool but with less gripping effort.I did not test the shearing capacity or durability limits of these shears. In the set I received there was an impact damage burr at the very tip of one of the L shear, which I had to remove with a diamond hone - this was clearly created before packaging, probably during handling at the assembly location. However it was an easy and quick repair.

This is a set of three "tin snips", designed to cut sheet metal. There are absolutely no instructions included and we need to go back to the Amazon page to learn the maximum thickness of the various metals (e.g. 0.8mm for stainless). "Tin" is a very soft metal and we might give the wrong impression just looking at the box.At 410g each, the weight and size is basically the same as my old straight-only version. It is however important to have a set of three styles to pick for any specific job. The grips are thick and comfortable and have the right finger tabs to securely hold them during use. The center bolt is grade 8, so very strong.Conventionally the three versions (left, straight, right) are identified by different handle colors, but in this set all look the same and it is a bit harder to identify which one is which. We'll probably get it right on the second try.Construction quality is excellent, smooth to operate, no play anywhere, and just the right spring tension. The triangular "hang hole" in the grip end is however tiny, probably too tiny to be really useful. In summary, a great set that looks well made and should last a long time. A set like this belongs into any toolbox.

I've always wanted tin snips to add to my tools, but I never made the purchase. I found this three piece set and went for it. I don't know if it's normal, but they don't seem to open all the way, and you need some pretty large hands to expand them to the max. While the handle is a nice rubber and comfortable to hold, extensive use is going to put a strain on the hands.

They come as advertised, cut as expected, and feel great in the hands. All in all, these tin snips are a great value for money and excellent if you have the occasional thin sheet metal to cut around the house or shop.I wouldn't think they would hold up or cut as much as a bigger name brand, but I don't see these breaking or failing as quickly as some other cheaply made pot metal tool. Don't bet your entire profession on these snips, but if you need some snips as a backup or for the occasional job, what's better than having all three that work well?

These tin snips came in nicely packaged. I like that they came in a set. Each one is labeled with "L", "R" and "S", indicating left, right and straight. The handles are very comfortable and have hand guards on them (anyone who cuts sheet metal has had some cut from the sharp edges of the cut material. These will help reduce those accidents. The cutting edges are serrated with fine teeth. The snips came covered with machine oil. So, wear some gloves and wipe away the excess machine oil. There is a minor manufacturing issue with the placement of the screws for the locking lever. On two out of three I received, just squeezing the handles opens the saws. So, these may open up in your tool box. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it to fix the issue. In the picture you can see that the tip is a little open for the one labeled "R". This is because the spacing between the two screws is a little too short. It doesn't bother me but you need to be careful when reaching into your tool box in case the jaws are open. I took one star for that.Still, I am happy with these.
