As an emergency backup power for our little electric Cooper we have a portable electric generator with NEMA TT-30P outlet. This power adapter allows us to connect our Level 2 charger with 14-50R plug to our generator and charge the car at the level 2 charging speed instead of the regular Level 1, 110V outlet. As public charging networks are growing, there are still some areas where we like to visit that dont have the public chargers available (such as state parks or regular tent sites at the campgrounds). Our portable battery powered electric generator does the job and we can leave it inside the car and run the cable through the window if needed. It's basically like having a power bank with you but not for your cellphone but for your EV!

This plug worked great (so far) for what I needed it for.I have several solar power generators that do not have the 30amp or 50amp shore power hook up.With this dogbone, I was able to connect through the 15 amp outlet and run low powered items throughout my RV.No downsides yet but I am watching it closely.

I have a Class C and plugging it into the adapter when I have it at my house can be a real problem. The adapter doesn't "fit" under the cover of my 110 plug. This will work perfectly. I was actually thinking of contacting an electrician to change the plug to 30amp, now I won't need to do that.
