I have a medium sized ax head. Nothing special. I was surprised that this handle was too narrow to fit. I will return it.

Ax handle is fine but I was expecting the color in the picture. I’m just gonna sand it down and do it myself but just a future reference for anyone buying this item. It comes natural with semi-gloss finish.

I’m happy with my purchase so far. I have not chopped wood with the axe with the new handle yet. The handle appears sturdy with good grain orientation. I expect it to hold up well.

These handles are the perfect replacement size for my old, handles that were damaged by over-aggressive ax swingers. I need to protect the handle next to the blade because the wood is not as dense as I had hoped, but it will work fine. It is hard to find handles made with the older growth wood that has a tighter grain, but the grain is straight on both the handles I bought.

This product is exactly what I couldn't find in stores so I thought I'd take a chance online. It's the perfect ax handle, easy to install and comparable in price to everyone else.

I ordered this because I needed a replacement handle and I liked the way it look in the picture. However when you receive it it's nowhere near as red as the picture. It comes with a wood wedge and it's really thin. Other than that you should work as an axe handle.×××Update×××I put a head on this handle and spent quite a bit of time to make sure it was as tight as I could get it then I put it in my shop for about a month and the next time I went to use it the Handel shrunk enough for the head to just fall off. I don't know how they treated these handles but they did a really poor job. Complete waste of money I do not recommend to anyone.

Good grain structure, almost perfectly parallel with the length. Eye dimensions were as stated. Kerr was cut parallel, but just slightly off center (still fine). Love the palm swell and fawnsfoot at the base of the handle. Color was much lighter that the picture illustrated, but that was better for me. Would recommend this product.
