So I’m a new lefty player so I cannot just go and test guitars at my local shop. My approach is to buy cheaper guitars until I find one that plays the way I like and then invest in a higher quality instrument. That being said this is a 335 style guitar similar to the ones made by Gibson and Epiphone but it cost anywhere from 1/2 to 1/8 of the price of those guitars. The company had good communication. I ordered a red one, but they didn’t have it in stock so they contacted me and offered a blue one instead. I did have some problems with their shipping company (China Post). I ordered the guitar at the end of April and China Post tracking indicated it was delivered on May 24, but I didn’t actually get it until early June. It was packed very well, however. In terms of quality, two of the other cheap guitars that I purchased were able to be played right out of the box. That was not the case with this guitar. The low E string got severe buzz with the slightest touch and I couldn’t play any notes on the lowest fret without constant buzz. If I tried to put a capo on the first fret, the guitar was unplayable. I took it to a pro to get it set up properly and he pointed out to me that the frets were not even and the neck of the guitar was uneven. And of course, the strings would need to be replaced because they’re not the best quality to begin with.On the positive side, the guitar is beautiful. The neck is incredibly comfortable and playing slides, hammer ons and pull off are super easy. the higher notes sound awesome and with the new guitar strings are even better.Overall, you shouldn’t expect much more from a $300 guitar. Just know if you buy it, you might have to spend a little more getting it set up in order to get a well playing instrument.
