I contacted the company via e-mail about my problem with the battery not holding charge even when the solar panel was in direct sunlight and the solar panel shows its charging with an orange light. They were polite, responsive and professional. They offered me a free replacement solar panel, but sent me an entire new door and solar panel. Everything was working well again. About 1 week after installation the battery has suddenly died and doesn’t seem to be taking a charge from solar again. If it is plugged into AC power it still works fine but this isn't ideal as I have to run a lead cord. The AC power holds the battery charged but does not actually charge the battery which would be much better.

The battery was bad out of the box. How much can I trust it 6 month from now even if they replace it. I got my money back.

I got this back in March. It has worked perfectly except for this past week. We have had rain and no sun for the last 6 days straight. My door stopped working about 2 or 3 days into this. I've had to go outside day and evening to open and close the door. I do not have power in my coop so I can't use the option USB plugin unfortunately.Would be great if there was an option to put in a regular battery for a backup in a situation just as this. Otherwise, I love this door and would recommend to anyone. The wi-fi option is great for when I'm away from the house and want to be sure the door gets closed since we do have predators in our area.Would be 5 stars if not for the no battery option.

I installed this automatic chicken coop door a few weeks ago and it's been working well with no problems. The solar power feature keeps it running without needing to recharge, and the battery has lasted through cloudy days. The WiFi control is useful when I want to check or change the settings from inside the house. I set it to open and close based on the light sensor and it has opened at sunrise and closed around sunset like it should. The LCD screen makes it easy to adjust the timer if needed. It also has a safety feature that stops it from closing if something is in the way, which gives some peace of mind. It feels sturdy and has handled light rain and wind without issues.

This has been the best purchase for my coop! It worked perfectly, so far, and I set it up in 15 minutes! It works every day. It is safe and closes well, I have it hooked to solar as well as electric power. It saves me twice a day from a trip to my girls. Happy Chickens!!!

Door seems to be working fine but has terrible app interface, I have to constantly add the door back by repairing it. Also doesn’t seem to hold the settings on the door. Poor ladies were locked in until I went in the coop and pressed the button. One last concern (and it is not necessarily related to this brand) there is no manual option to open the door, if it ever doesn’t work I have to remove the screws to let out the ladies.

the door is very well made and i had no problems installing it. i have had no issues with the app. the door work fine no harm to the chickens. i would recommend to everyone. good quality door.

This chicken coop door works well! It fits perfectly on the hole I made for the previous one that broke.It did sustain snow, cold weather and rain without any issue (as long as you make sure the solar panel stays free of snow). Still works on less sunny days too. Didn't have a problem with the opening and closing time. Never closed on a chicken either. Not too noisy. Good product for a good price!

This worked really well and the solar panel alone has been sufficient at keeping the door powered and operating. It is really easy to set and I liked that there is the option to use a light sensor or just program based on time. One thing I was worried about is the door accidentally crushing a poor chicky and this was not a problem: I used my hand as a test and there's absolutely no way the amount of pressure it exerts before springing back up would hurt.

See my original review below.Edit: About 4 weeks after installation the battery has suddenly died and doesn’t seem to be taking a charge. If it is plugged into AC power it still works fine but this is a problem for me.Original review: I’m impressed by this door and it has exceeded my expectations. I love being able to open and close the door from the app on my phone. The solar panel has been in a mostly shaded area because my coop is under a couple trees but the power level has remained at 100%. Good value for the money.

This door works very well. The trick to any chicken door is to just keep it clean. I think that if you do keep this as clean as reasonably possible, it will serve you well for a long time. All chicken doors tend to wear out overtime because chickens are just so darn messy. They get dirt all up into everything and sooner or later it will wear out. But this door has a good base which will keep it clean longer than many.
