In the United States metric bolts are much more expensive than standard (SAE). Was always annoying buying rivnut kits and having half that I'll likely never use. They come in a clear plastic case. I moved them into a packout that holds a small rivnut tool. Recommended if you need lots of standard rivnuts.

I needed some specific-size replacements after getting threaded furniture legs that unfortunately did not match the available slots on my (yup, discounted!) furniture from an auction. Then I remembered about the table I really wished was on casters...Then I remembered the wooden office chair that had a wobbly caster because of the insert, which wasn't going to un-insert and re-insert.Was shopping for a set of six plus the handful of oddballs locally and online but the math didn't add up considering the value you get with this set. I was considering it on Amazon when it popped up on Vine, so I was happy to have the chance to try it out for y'all.GOOD:*Plenty of inserts in common sizes so that you can fix your issues*Threads consistent and match casters/threaded rods fine. No cross-threads*Once you start fixing your insert-issues, you'll remember more you need to fix, and you'll have them with this set*Very sturdy - even an impatient repair person (not that I know any) won't smoosh theseISSUES:*Not really an issue, but the plastic box they came in was cracked on the corner. Wasn't an issue since the whole thing was bagged, and most likely happened because these are nice and heavy-weight. Piece of tape sealed it back up, no issues, and I fully expect to use most of these by the end of the year, so I'm not stressing on it. I'd rather get a really great value on some quality inserts I can use than to get flimsy ones that the lightweight container can hold. Definitely not deducting a star because the item itself being quality created an issue with the transport vessel! Will never complain about quality products. This will get lined up with my other trays of assorted hardware so they'll be easy to find and right at hand when I get a break in a few weeks and become a full-time (vacation week) repair person.Good value, good quality, and you're gonna use them out of the container pretty quickly anyway, so five stars!

A nice selection of SAE rivet nuts to have on hand which can be used for multiple things, being especially useful in blindside applications. The plastic case they come in is really cheap and I don't see the hinges or latches lasting very long. Threads are mostly clean with only some slight burring. The anti-twist ribs on the shanks aren't as prominent as others, primarily on smaller sizes, so could be issues with slippage in softer material. The pictures on the ad indicate they are stainless, but they are in fact zinc plated steel (Note: the text description in the ad references material correctly). Also, not a big deal but the pictures show the label being under the lid, whereas mine is on the top of the lid so you can't see which size is which without closing and opening the lid.All in all this assortment of rivet nuts will be useful to have on hand, but there could be some improvements as described.

This is a pretty good selection of metric rivet nuts.Of course over half of them are the less used tiny M3 and M4 ones, but that's pretty typical.Seem to be decent quality. I tested a couple and they deformed nicely with no stress cracks or other issues.I can't speak to the quality of the steel, but rivnuts are usually used on sheet metal where they only have to hold a couple hundred pounds max, so I'm pretty confident these are just fine. These are thinner wall than some USA made ones I have, but that probably affects the drilling size for installation more than it affects the strength. As is typical of these sets, they found a really inexpensive plastic box to pack them in. Don't be surprised if the box arrives cracked. But they did pack the smaller nuts in plastic bags, which was nice of them, preventing them from getting all mixed up if roughly shipped. And they secured the box with (almost invisible, surprise!) straps so it doesn't pop open in transit. Kudos. It was a nice thought to include the dimensions in the box label, except the infographic in the listing is more accurate, and includes the grip length ranges. The first thing I do with a box of rivnuts is to label them with the required drill size, and the grip range.99% of the time those two numbers (along with the bolt size) are all you need to know.Drill size is key because it's really not standardized, with wall thickness, thus hole size to drill, varying from manufacturer to manufacturer.
