I was expecting this to be an airtight container. I have never used anything with a loose fitting lid and I would definitely prefer a canning jar to this setup. There is no storage for the spoon and the strainer doesn't fit great. Overall, I feel like its only upside is aesthetics. It looks cute on the counter. But I don't feel like it's as functional as a glass jar with a good canning strainer.

I love this bacon grease saver! The strainer works great and catches all the bits perfectly. The wide top makes it much easier to pour into without spills, and it looks nice sitting on the counter next to the stove. The only improvement I would suggest is adding a spot on the side or top to hold the spoon or ladle that comes with it. That would make it just about perfect!

I have been keeping my bacon grease in a mason jar by the stove for years. It’s good to have on hand for frying eggs or potatoes or other veggies. It’s always difficult to pour the bacon tray or cookie sheet of grease into the cheese cloth on the jar though. It almost always leaves a mess to clean. This solves that and it looks pretty too. The mouth of the jar is good and wide and there is enough room in the filter chamber to prevent overflowing even if the holes become slow. It’s metal so there is no risk of melting or warping. The lid fits well and keeps things fresh. There is a spoon but honestly I tend to just grab one from the drawer instead of using theirs because then I would have to remember to return theirs to the pot when I’m sorting spoons. I’ve had it on my counter for several weeks now and I can confirm it is both functional and attractive.

I love this bacon grease trap! It's very cute and has a farmhouse style. I set it right on top of my stove. I've poured hot bacon grease directly into it with no issues whatsoever. There is a strainer that traps the majority of non-grease items (like a tiny piece of bacon) from going into the grease itself. It isn't perfect, but gets 98% of what it can, which is great. The spoon is helpful for scooping out the grease to reuse. The lid prevents any type of old bacon grease smell from coming out and into your kitchen. I don't think I'm going to fill it very soon - it's a really good, large size. Me by myself I'd say it'd take me eating bacon every day for a year to fill to the brim, so no worries about running out of room. It's a very easy, good-looking bacon grease trap. It's a great value for your money.
