The mounting kinda sucks due to it only being screwed in by 2 screws on bottom of bracket making your structure weak compared to a bracket with mounting points on both bottoe and top of bracket. Like my ex wife said "just give me 2 more inches" the top of bracket

Visually these brackets look good. The 2x4's from Home Depot were inconsistent in size. Generally smaller. The structural strength of of these brackets is not that great. The brackets will bend on the bottom with enough force. Each bracket is only secured with 2 screws going into the post.

Should work alright, screws are a bit shorter than I wanted so I used my own.

The product is okay especially for the price, but you will need to get a special drilbit to make a hole for drainage if it is outdoors. It also comes with hex screws and a wrench, but- being that I'm using wood and not cardboard- I need to get a socket bit to attach them

Very stable/sound, and fits well but make sure to drill a hole at the very bottom or water will pool up and quickly rot the wood.

Purchased these to strengthen railing ends on a high balcony with a 45 degree brace. These made it solid! Added multiple coats of industrial coating to improve rust resistance. Satified with purchase.

Overall, it’s a great product and worked as expected. The only downside was after the first rainfall some of the black paint bled out onto the post. It was mounted to it only did this the first few rains so I’ll need to sand the post and re-stain it in the spring. I also recommend caulking the bottom bracket which I didn’t have a chance to do prior to the first rainfall. That may have helped prevent the issue.

The brackets are beautifully engineered and high quality. Other people must have earlier version as mine ahad have a small square hole for rain to drain out. The flaw are the weak screws - after 1 windy storm (Seattle Fall 2024) 3 out them snapped.Used them on a 10' tall pergola kit so had to stand on a ladder (btw I am a woman over 50)
