My granddaughter dropped her school compass and the center point bent. It was not replaceable and the I needed a replacement. This pack is a wonderful solution. It has a sturdy center point that should survive being dropped. Also, the drawing lead is just a short pencil. This means that I don’t have to buy replacement leads, I can just use pencil stubs. The pencils are easily removed and sharpened in a regular pencil sharpener. They are mostly plastic with a metal screw and nut holding them together and a metal center point. The compasses are nice colors. My granddaughter loves the purple one. They have useful inch and centimeter scales that show the approximate radius of the circle they draw. The low cost and colorful construction make them ideal for classroom and home use.

If you’re on too smooth a surface, it’s hard to keep the point in the center without moving. The pencil lead is too hard, and drags it out.Other than that, it’s a good compass. It keeps its radius well, and you can set it by inches or centimeters.
