The OEM motor that would not disengage worked better than this product. This just did nothing.

The 600-802 4WD Transfer Case Motor is designed to fit Ford F-150, Expedition, F-150 Heritage, F-250 Lobo, as well as Lincoln Navigator models. Here are some key features and considerations regarding this product:1. **OE Specification**: This transfer case shift motor is manufactured to OE specifications, ensuring a direct fit and durable quality. It allows for easy switching between 2WD and 4x4 (4WD) four-wheel drive configurations.2. **Reliable Quality**: Standard tests are applied to the transfer case motor to ensure it exceeds OE standards. The internal gear of the motor is upgraded to ensure smooth switching between 2WD and 4WD, even under extreme conditions. This guarantees a stable quality and longer service life for the motor.3. **Installation Note**: It's important to perform a connector pin check before installation. If the connector does not match, the motor will not fit. Do not apply electrical power to the transfer motor before installation. Additionally, only change the position of the transfer case gear to align with the shift motor, not the position of the transfer case motor itself.4. **Quality Assurance**: The product comes with a 1-year unlimited-mileage quality guarantee, demonstrating the manufacturer's commitment to customer satisfaction. If you have any questions or concerns about the product, you can contact the manufacturer for assistance.Overall, the 600-802 4WD Transfer Case Motor offers reliable performance and a direct fit for compatible Ford and Lincoln vehicles, ensuring smooth switching between different drive modes. :)

Even though the description for this does not explicitly say it will fit on a 98 Ford Explore with a 4.0 in it but it does. I flipped the switch into 4 Low and the transfer case got put into 4 Low. I rolled the switch up into 4 High and it did indead go into 4 High. Which is better than the old one that decided it really, really like 4 Low.Now I am going to have to do a little bit of surgery on the wiring harness on both the new one and the old one because while it works, there is some slight changes in the wiring harness in the Explorer, but nothing to major. If you can wire a new O2 sensor in you should be able to manage that.
