I have been doing photography for longer than I care to admit. I don't do a lot of macro but have always had one macro lens in my bag. I invested in a new camera system and had to get all new lenses to go with it. I read a lot of reviews and watched several videos about this lens ranging from best macro lens to not so great. For a 2:1 macro there aren't a lot of options out there for my system and none at this price point so I decided to give it a shot. Like most people I was excited about my new toy and put it on my camera and went right out the door to take some shots. I have to admit I was less than impressed. The lens like most say is very heavy. It weighs more than my camera but I put that complaint aside. The build quality seems very good with an all metal body. My first pictures looked very soft and I wasn't at all impressed but I thought about what I was doing and had to remember how to do macro photography. I got my flash, diffuser and tripod and went back out. I have been taking photos for a couple days now with this lens with really great results. It is a macro lens and shines in that area. It's not for portraits or landscapes. There are much better options out there but for other types of photography but for macro it is great. If you don't know how to do macro or how to get your images in focus there are a lot of great videos out there to help you along the way. At first I thought this lens would be going back but now I'm really impressed. The bad results were the product of bad photography not a bad lens in my case. Following through on my process for taking macro and taking my time resulted in really great photos. If my primary focus was macro I probably would invest in a much more expensive lens but for the occasional macro shots I take this lens is a winner.

I’m impressed with this lens. Its build is sturdy, and it's manual focus but easy to use. I only gave it four stars because some grease was leaking from it.

It claims it will fit canon and it doesn’t. Sending it back.

Me parece un execelente lente aunque algo pesado pero calidad y contrucción lo amerita. Dejo unas fotos de referencia lo uso con mi cámara Canon M50 Mark II.

Excellent price for what you get. You need to be very patient and have a lot of practice to take a macro image without a tripod. I am sharing this picture of an inside tulip holding the camera with my hands.

This lens takes tac sharp walk around type photos with excellent color in addition to the macro images i have only played with so far. I bought it to take photos of gems, minerals, fossils, plus garden and nature photos. I have purchased a macro slider rail for my tripod since it is rare to get an extreme macro shot hand held focusing but it has been fun trying resulting in some good photos. For this kind of macro work you need serious manual focusing skills. The focus ring is extremely tight, way more than it should be, but it certainly won't be dislodged when set. Plus after attaching the lens to the camera, there is a slight but irritating lens play left and right when turning the focus or f-stop ring. That said, I still love this lens and cosequently have moved a fish-eye lens by this maker to the top of my wish list above other better know makers just like I did after deciding on this purchase.

I just got a refurbished Canon EOS m200 and attached this Brightin Star 60mm Macro Lens to it, I spent about half an hour in my backyard and took the attached photos with it. It is incredible value for the money, I would have rated this a PERFECT lens, though it has one major drawback. The lens I received did not have a front lens that would protect its internals from dust/sand. I've seen some YouTube reviews that included one, so I am bummed that this one didn't include it. I know I need to order one now, but I just don't know what it's called or what size I would need (this is my first camera!). Then this lens would be AMAZING! If you purchase this lens, make sure to buy that accessory and you'll be all set to take incredibly high-quality macro photos for a very reasonable price!Edit: I just ordered and received a Tiffen 62mm UV Protector Filter, it cost under $10 and fits this lens perfectly, it even has threads on both sides so you can still use your lens cap!Edit2: After owning this lens for 8 months, I can say the lens has held up very well. I have also added 3 more pictures to my initial review. Even though the product page states 19cm for focal distance, I have gone far closer while using focus stacking software with it. This has been an outstanding first macro lens for me and I am a solid fan of Brightin Star's products now.
