We replaced our old concrete walkways and blacktop driveway with Unilock pavers a few years ago and our monster 11.5 HP snow blower just cruised right along without a single hitch .This year 1st snowstorm ,on the last pass it began to scrape . A quick inspection showed that the skids had reached the end of the line. I ordered new Polyethylene direct replacements from Amazon and was installing them 2 days later. The job was quick and easy, the hardware package was complete and of a higher quality than the factory original.. The next snowfall the old monster wasn't growling ,just gliding along.

These shoes were a perfect replacement for the metal ones that wore out years ago on my Troy-Bilt 24” snowblower

I bought these as a replacement for my craftsman blower. Last year I used my blower three times with these slides. They now need to be replaced. My original slides that came with the blower lasted me 10 years. I'm going to Sears Parts Direct for the next set. Update: You can see the plastic that came off while doing the snow. Only one use this year after flipping them over.

Slide shoes come with carriage bolts and locking nuts. The bolts fit too loosely into the slots of the shoes so they rotate when you try to tighten them. You have to hold on to the bolt head with pliers or vise grips so you can tighten the nut. A better solution would be to buy hex head bolts of similar size and thread pattern and then install a flat washer next to the bolt head with an external tooth lock washer under it, so that the teeth of the lock washer bite into the surface of the skid shoe. On the other end of the bolt you may be able to use the lock nut provided with the shoes. Of course, since the shoes are plastic, don’t overtighten the lock nuts. The shoes are made of a type of plastic that should slide easily on your driveway.

The original parts from manufacturer would have nine times the price I paid for these. They installed easily.

Arrived a day early in the middle of a snowstorm when I needed it most. Fit is very good but comes with 3/8 inch Carriage screws and nuts. Some Craftsman machines are drilled for 5/16 inch so keep the old screws, nuts and washers. Machine bolts could always be substituted if necessary. Pleased with parts and will order a second set for back up.
