First Bach of two that I ordered both came in broken ,I emailed photo and seller reshipped replacement.Quality of entire bow if just good enough for a spare just in case something goes wrong .What you pay for is what you get .You must spend little over your budget to get quality bow as sound between the cheep ones and expensive ones is very different .This is the kind of product that you shoul purchase at the store but after you test it or your musician sound different than all other viola players.Its little tricky to decide how many stars to give it but considering that in today's economy not every parent can afford to buy the best or especially at local music store , they don't even offer for sale cheeper version so many parents opt in to rent expensive bows .I was very new to all , music subject ,instruments ,what's needed and all that comes with it when my daughter started 6th grade but I am stubborn and it helped me save money I purchased everything from online sources like amazon, ebay , ioffer , etc and saved hundreds , what I found out instruments can be average quality but to play good and move further you have to spend little more for good bow and strings .I know my review is long and boring to read even for me but I know that it would help those who want to get the best for what they can spend .

Although the hair is about 1/2 (or maybe 2/3) of a normal bow, I can not complaint too much when considering the price.
