plant arrived overall pretty dull and droopy, with several wilted/yellow/browning leaf-clusters.there are also three main woody stems that were obviously pruned not long prior to shipment.starter pot was only half-full of loose soil.perked up a little bit after a drink and some light/air.but initially not looking overall very healthy.could just be particularly bad stress/fatigue from packaging/travel.but it shipped very quickly, and i unpacked it immediately upon receipt. plus, i’ve gotten multiple other plants from this seller, and they’ve all arrived looking extremely healthy compared to this one.i’m on the fence about trying to get a refund for this one.i’d place 50/50 odds on whether it recovers and thrives vs continuing to decline and die.figure i’ll give it a bit of time to acclimate, and check roots for rot or larvae.meanwhile, i’ll contact seller and see what they have to say.will update review to reflect outcome, but initially, two stars.UPDATES:contacted seller via product support website link provided by amazon. waiting to hear back.4 days later: still haven’t heard back from seller.meanwhile, whole plant even more droopy, with further yellowing/browning. and it’s now shedding leaf clusters.5th day: upon closer inspection, turns out the plant had virtually no roots, and the soil was full of fungus gnat larvae, which are now maturing and spreading.contacted amazon customer service, shared everything i’ve mentioned so far, including that the seller had not responded.fortunately, they issued me a refund with no hassle.which is good.but i’m left having to fight a new gnat infestation threatening my other planties.what a royal pain in the a$$.i deserve more than a refund.meanwhile, they listed the official reason for the refund as “damaged during shipping.”which is total BS, and not at all what i told them.the packaging was more than adequate, and completely intact upon delivery.the problem was that the plant was not sufficiently rooted, and had a fungus gnat infestation.this is all baffling and disappointing, since i’ve gotten plants from this seller before that were in great shape.i’m also still waiting on delivery of another plant from them i ordered at the same time.hopefully that one’ll be alright.we’ll see.but, yah, despite other good experiences/product from this seller, i’m reducing my rating for this particular plant purchase to one star.would give negative stars if i could.

Pros 👍- nice size- healthy green foliage- healthy roots (or as healthy as a Ming Araila gets)- lots of branchesCons 👎- pruning sealant is black- few branches were damaged- extremely low quality soil (come on now, it seemed like you swept the floor and used it as a potting soil)- require immediate repotting- overall shape of the tree was not impressive (will require at least a couple of year of pruning to get it right).
