About this item

  • PRECISION BASE: Works only with the Anova Precision Cooker. Does not work with Precision Cooker Nano or Precision Cooker Pro.

  • SMALL and LIGHTWEIGHT: This is the perfect accessory for your Precision Cooker.
  • CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE: Designed in San Francisco, CA. Anova delivers thousands of sous vide recipes for free in the Anova app, created for cooks of every skill level by award-winning chefs and home cooks alike

Although the description says it works with “Anova Precision”, and I have an Anova Precision, this base doesn’t fit my unit. Check the different photos in reviews. Before buying, look at your Anova Precision unit. Unscrew the clear plastic bottom part 1/4 turn and take it off (I didn’t even know this could be removed). My bottom part has 3 tabs connecting it to the top part, and it doesn’t fit my unit. This base looks like it’s designed to fit a 2 tab unit.I’m sure it would be great if it fit.

Make for sous vide on any pot that's deep enough possible.

Cheap Plastic. Does not fit easily. Waste of money. Wish I would have read some of the other reviews about it before purchasing.

I just purchased the Anova Precision Cooker (model AN500-US00) and this base was said to work with it. After opening the cooker, it didn't look like it would attach to the base. It comes with no documentation.I searched for videos and the best I could find was an Anova product video which shows the plastic bottom piece magically disconnecting from the cooker (it's animated and the base just drops straight down as if it would just pull apart). The saving grace were comments on the video which said that the bottom plastic piece does twist off (even though it seems like it won't).Just grip the bottom piece solidly and twist counter-clockwise about 25 degrees and it will come off. And the base will attach (by inserting it in the holes at the bottom of the cooker and twisting clockwise). Hopefully this comment helps others. It's too bad that some sort of documentation doesn't come with the base explaining this. When it comes to plastic, I don't want to exert too much force (after doing just that and many things breaking through the years). The bottom piece is solid and you shouldn't break anything if you need to use a good amount of force. It should come apart. At least it did for me.

I was excited to see this product because it meant I could use the precision cooker in a larger cooler without having to fill it up as high when clipped to the side wall. That's one advantage of the Joule sous vide stick that Anova lacks. Unfortunately, this base does not work with the Precision Cooker version 1.0, which has 3 slots. This only fits units with 2 slots. Bummer.

I have an Anova Precision and this base is clearly designed for a different model. The problem here is that Anova has brought out different versions of this immersion heater but they're all just called 'Precision' with no V1 / V2 differentation, so impossible to know if your 'Precision' is the right one..
