This synth has incredible (almost un-believable) sound and build quality for analog synth with full size keys at this price point. I have a large collection of synthesizers dating back from the 70's thru modern times. I love that they have not stray too far away from the vintage while adding just the right touches of modern in this recreation. The Behringer Odyssey has absolutely made its way into my main keyboard set up!

The unit arrived seemingly to have some issues out of the box. Oscillators would randomly flux in volume (no it was not an log) and other weird glitches. Ran an update as per Behringer posts on their forums and the unit completely stopped functioning properly. Will be returning for a KorgArp.

Honestly, it was well made, but I hated it. I couldn't get any good sounds from it and I'm a professional keyboard player for the last 30 years. If you are familiar with the original ARP and are happy with that, you'll be happy with this. If not, you can find much more versatile instruments in the Behringer line.

My first synthesizer (back in 1977) was an ARP Odyssey mkII. Back then it was referred to as "two voice polyphonic." The Behringer version is based on the mkIII Odyssey. As with the Rev3 ARP, the Behringer has PPC, which replaced the pitch-bend knob. PPC was one of the dumbest ideas ARP came up with to be different than Moog. The 3 rubber pads control pitch-bend and LFO modulation. The PPC pads require a lot of pressure, which hurts if you have arthritis (like me). I preferred the pitch-bend knob. Also different in the rev3 odyssey are the sawtooth waveforms. The rev1 and rev2 Odyssey VCOs had descending sawtooth waves. The #3 Odyssey VCOs had ascending sawtooth waves. Normally the difference isn't noticeable, until you use VCO1 as an LFO.The Odyssey sliders were never the strongest. I'm undecided what I think of these sliders. The filters are nice, but filter 2 doesn't make it sound as fat as a real Moog. Not a bad synth.

Simply - love it. Just like going back to the 70s. Love the sounds and is so much FUN to play. Sounds are endless. Can spend hours tweaking it.

Thinking of spending $3000 on the original vintage version? Save yourself some money. I love everything Behringer is doing in the synth market right now, they can’t release stuff fast enough for me. This Odyssey is stellar. I’ve A-B’d the sounds from this with the Korg VST app version, the hardware is clearly superior. But you can have a lot of fun using the app presets as templates for exploring new patches (remember, this synth has no presets). And I have to say, I love the lights. There are some synths with very unpleasant LED lights, the sickly bright greens of the Roland System-1 comes to mind - unbearable. But these lights make the Odyssey look like a Christmas tree (or turn them off if you prefer). This synth of the past is still a synth for the future... - how’s that for a tag line?

Love this thing. It is built like a tank. You can go from high pitched squeals, to soft gong like sounds to a low end rumble and a lawnmower engine. The set up is easy, and I have been spending a few hours a day exploring all its soundscapes. The Octave switch is pretty flimsy, so I got worried it was broken, but after watching a few videos on YouTube, they are all like this.

The instrument sounds and feels great. Housed in a sturdy metal frame, the keys and sliders are just right. The sound is perfect: I can easily re-create those great synth leads from Ultravox. The digital effects are tasteful and not particularly noisy. Pair the machine with a spatializer (like a Strymon Blue Sky).
