Product Description

Revolution 2x2

Modded out of the box.

It took an impressive amount of design to revolutionize bus-powered, studio-grade interfaces. Now Black Lion Audio is responding with Revolution 2x2: the ultimate in portable recording interfaces. Revolution isn’t another run-of-the-mill interface - it’s the interface the world has always asked for.

Revolution 2x2

The best sound you’ve heard.

The most revolutionary thing to note about Revolution 2x2 is it’s sound quality: the sound of large, high-end converters is now available in a product that can fit in your hand.

Revolution uses new “Macro-MMC” Clocking technology, which is based off of Black Lion Audio's numerous clocking products and modifications. Macro-MMC’s circuit implementation brings converters to new heights; well beyond what’s been seen in other recording interfaces. Black Lion Audio also assembled their finest A/D//D/A technology, giving you the record-making power you’ve never had before in an interface this small and portable.

Revolution 2x2 Internatl

Top-tier analog design.

Hi-fi digital design alone isn’t enough to cut it — it takes a serious analog circuit for the very best capture and playback. Revolution 2x2 is built with the most cutting edge, high-end ICs. High-end Vishay, Nichicon, and Wima capacitors are used throughout the entire circuit.

All internal gain-staging has been optimized for the very lowest signal-to-noise ratio. All of the analog I/O has not only been built with the finest components, but are fully decoupled and balanced — right to the very core of the convertor! Most manufacturers do not follow this practice, and that allows extra noise contamination during both capture and playback.

Revolution 2x2

Noise-proof

Revolution employs BLA's “PG-i” technology. All power rails are highly filtered in every active stage. Power is decoupled across the entire circuit: the preamps, the convertors, the internal power, and even the clock. This reduces noise contamination from other equipment that is connected.

Revolution 2x2

A complete software suite.

A revolutionary interface needs life-changing software. The new Revolution Software Suite covers all of your needs.

The Revolution Software Suite starts with PreSonus Studio One Artist — the cutting edge DAW for all your needs. We’ve also included select plugins from Izotope, Brainworx, and Lindell

This little box has caused such a storm. It doesn't have class leading SNR and THD values and a bunch of other stats most of us don't understand. So the mixing by numbers crowd said they wouldn't even try it. They still somehow figured out it was worth maybe $50 and was less preferable to a Behringer. Okay...As someone who has actually tried the interface, I can tell you that this sounds like a slice of a big format console. If it has noise, you can't hear it. Instead you hear stunning 3D clarity, detail and warmth, set on a perfectly inky black background. The sound is effortless. Maybe you need a cloud lifter if you have a quiet dynamic. So get one. Or use an inferior interface with more gain. The mixing by numbers sheep are really missing out!

I hope the seller could see this msg. We bought it in January and it is already broken after regular usage. I searched on the support policy and couldn’t find anything

Does exactly what I need it to do. Once I realized it needed drivers I had a much better experience. The build quality is really good, it feels solid, pots have a good resistance and I have yet to hear a scratch when adjusting anything.Usbc is a huge plus in my book- great to be off the older io and on to something with more throughput.I bought this with one use case in mind: DI's for recording. I previously used the 2i2, like everyone else. I was never satisfied with the clean signals, they sounded 'boxy' as one youtuber pointed out. DI's sound much better on this interface, im happy with the tracks I'm getting.I didnt have any trouble getting it hooked up to my daw once the drivers were installed. The unit used to be 500 but, has since dropped to under 300, which makes it a steal. Would recommend.

Okay so,After a long time thinking about it I switched out my Apollo twin. (I know I know… just hold on)While the Apollo sounded amazing, it required a thunderbolt connection on my MacBook Pro (which there is only one of) so I couldn’t charge my laptop, have the Apollo plugged in, and have my usb dock. Also would have weird ground noise from my Apollo and UAD forums and customer service could not figure it out. I ended up learning it was an issue due to my laptop being below a certain % of battery. So after some YouTube videos of this product I decided to get it.This thing is great. Not only does it only use a usb c but the sound quality is right up there with the Apollo. Also it’ll work on either Mac or pc so you can go to any studio with it and not have issues. The cross fade knob is a nice feature which I don’t find myself using that much since I record in ableton with plugins but I would assume if you wanted 0 latency raw vocals it’s another reason to get this. All in all I love this thing and it was a great addition to the studio.

I upgraded from a Focusrite Scarlet Solo 2nd gen, which honestly did a great job. When I plugged the Black Lion in and did some recording I immediately noticed a quality jump. My amp sims sounded clearer and better. The biggest jump in quality I noticed was using my SM7B mic. There was more presence in my voice, and a depth that the scarlet did not provide. To make sure, I did an a/b test. I took a song I recorded with the scarlet, and re-recorded a guitar track with the Black Lion using the identical settings, and the quality difference was real drastic. I did the same with vocals. Very noticeable. It weighs like a tank, the knobs are very weighted, which is cool. You can't accidentally bump it and mess up your settings. It feels and sounds like a very professional piece of studio gear. You aren't going to buy this and not notice a difference. It really is an amazing interface. It seems under priced honestly.

Made with high quality components. This unit is amazingly clear and far better than other interfaces I have used. Bought this when my focusrite input broke off. If your looking for an interface this is your next. Pros are it's amazing. Cons none. Price is double but so is the quality.

This interface delivers on its primary promise: superb sound quality. The build is very solid (including capacitors, pots, board, etc.), and the headphone amp sounds better with my Sennheiser 6xx phones than any other interface I’ve compared (including small interfaces from SSL, Focusrite, and Audient EVO8). It seems that the attention to better than the usual component quality pays off. I think that what I produce, especially from analog sources, will benefit audibly, and meanwhile it’s a real pleasure to use. In fact, I wonder how it can only require USB power for these results.
