It’s held up to the horrible winter we had and it came out of it with no holes and rips…first year with it. Will wash it and fold it up for next year. I usually get 4 yrs out of a 5 yr cover so hopefully I get 10 yrs out of this 12 yr cover. So many people complain but they don’t clean or fold it. Put it on the lawn and wash with dish soap both sides, let it dry and it will last for you. Photo is…cover is still on the pool with dirt (Apr 24, 25). I will remove it for May 1st and open the pool

Had one of these before. They are good and tough keeps the pool clean of debris. They will not stand up to three inch in diameter hail which is why I’m purchasing again. But I don’t expect anything to make it through that after looking at my vehicle damage. Would definitely recommend because the cheap alternatives rip and tear in the wind. I doubt I get 12 years out of it in Oklahoma weather but even 3-4 years it’s worth the money. Good overlap and easy to install. Cable can be made banjo string tight and the ratchet grips it effectively.

I closed our 24 foot pool for the season and the very next day Manitoba was hit with an Alberta Clipper that produced winds in the 90 km/hr range that went on for nearly 36 hours straight. The cover performed like a champ and stayed tenaciously in place. I installed it along with a 4 x 8 pillow and a leaf cover over it. We live in a very heavily treed area and the leaf net willl help with spring cleanup. Make sure to not exceed 18 inches when dropping your water levels for the winter. If more than 18 inches is required, choose the next size up to insure proper installation.

Perfect fit!! Easy to install. Concern of seam but appears stable at this time. Price was unbelievable!! I have never been so happy to pay way less than $150 for a winter cover!! Thanks to you Amazon!!

We have an 18' diameter pool and bought the size recommended for it. It covered the pool exactly as shown in their photos... which is perfect. (If you want your cover to have more overhang then buy a larger size, but I do think their photos are accurate/non-misleading!) We live in Indiana and get pretty strong winds at times. I think a lot of ppl make the mistake of trying to keep all the water off the top of their pool cover, but the weight of the water or ice on top is what keeps gusting winds from billowing under your pool cover and ripping it... and possibly your pool's cap rail.... away. Regarding durability: No it's not going to last 12 years, and you have to read the fine print to see how they're warrantying that, but anyone who's owned a pool for a length of time knows that a 12-year pool cover is too good to be true (unless maybe some space-age material costing a LOT more than 40 bucks!) My experience: got us through 4 winters. The parts that remained at least mostly submerged look to be in good shape still. The edges, above water & exposed to sun are now very fragile and can poke a finger through. So... ordering another one to use this fall.

Well as suspected, this pool cover is crap. It is very thin and now is full of holes. I have it installed correctly and it has only been a couple of months since it was purchased. We have had 1 rainstorm and no really stormy days. This cover is disintegrating faster than a basic plastic tarp from Harbour Freight and the company claims it will last for 12 years!!! Do not waste your money on this cover. I have not bothered to try to return it. It will cost me more money to return it than its worth. Live and learn.I have my doubts that this tarp will hold up for 12 years. It is fairly thin feeling but it appears to be holding up so far. The cable and ratchet system are also very light-weight but did what they were intended to do with plenty of extra cable left over. I really like that this pool cover does not have a bunch of holes in it like every other one I have purchased. Why on earth would I want holes in a cover intended to keep debris and rainwater OUT of the pool water all winter? The other thing I like about this cover is the underside is black which is helping the keep warmth in the pool water. It may or may not matter when it freezes this winter, again it is a "wait and see" thing for me.The number of grommets this cover has is pretty cool. I was almost able to situate the cover so the cable that you weave through the grommets could be passed under all of the steel "legs" around the outside of the pool. My pool diameter is possibly smaller than the cover was designed to fit. That's ok by me because the cover fits down inside the pool edge far enough that there is no way the wind can bother it once it fills with some water. I do not need to attach the cover to anything else that could damage the outside of the pool liner now.The ONLY reason I do not feel confident in giving 5 stars is because of the density of the cover and the bare minimum size of the cable and ratchet. They work but for how long, 12 years is a pretty ridiculous claim. If it survives one year then I might have to reconsider my rating.

No delivery/time issues. Bigger then we had anticipated. Unfolded easily, only took maybe 15 minutes with two people to install. Tightening was easy as well. If you don't want to buy clips separately because the reviews are bad; buy a roll of shrink wrap from Home Depot or Lowe's to use around to help keep the cover on over the winter and you will only need to go around a few times to secure. Adding the shrink wrap helps to not have the wind blow your cover off in strong winter winds since the cable it comes with cannot be completely tightened to be wind proof. Will try to comment after our six month long winter has ended next spring with an update to see how it handled. ;)

Basically, it's a quality fiber-reinforced cover with metal grommets for the vinyl coated cable the securely wraps the cover around the pool using a hand-turned ratchet gadget. I'm happy winterizing our 18' round Intex with this cover except for the ratchet quality. We had a few issues primarily related to the wind gusts in our area. Without water on top of the cover, the wind would create upward pressure forcing the secured cabling to climb the exterior of the pool. The soft-metal ratchet that tightened the cable was tight as possible without breaking. To prevent the cover from climbing, 9 ground stakes were placed around the perimeter of the pool, and a light-weight nylon rope wrapped the pool in a zig-zag pattern tying the cover (through the cover's metal grommets) to the ground stakes. On our 18' round Intex pool, the stakes were placed at every other pole (and at angle closest to the ground.) This tie-down pattern helped to create enough resistance to the incremental climbing effect caused by the relentless wind gusts. This was last year, our first year.Unfortunately, we didn't properly store the cover over the summer. I'm guessing it was the lawn mower's exhaust muffler that burned a hole in the cover. The hole was about 1.5" in diameter, and I didn't notice the hole until the cover was draped over the pool. This was frustrating since I just dosed the pool with shock and algaecide. Anyway, I could reach the hole and managed to patch it using the rubberized Flex Tape (as seen on TV.) The tape was applied to both sides of the cover. Super sticky stuff. I wiped both sides around the hole clean, and then placed the rubberized Flex Tape on each side covering the hole top & bottom. The temp was about 45 degrees F at the time, and the cover wasn't totally dry when I applied the tape. But the tape adhered nicely -- I burnished the two sides together. If your cover has manageable tears or holes, it might be worth checking out the rubberized Flex Tape... as seen on TV.The next and hopefully final problem is the weak ratchet. The relentless wind gusts (we live near the Great South Bay on Long Island) put enough tension on the ratchet assembly forcing the ratchet's pawl pin out of the housing. As a result, the cabling loosened, and the cover draped into the pool. BTW, this happened the day prior to the planned zig-zag tie-down mentioned above. Until I locate a better ratchet, I'm using a mini C-clamp to keep the pawl & pin in place.Given a better cabling ratchet, I'd give the product 5 stars.
