I had to buy another HORSE SIZE one, This Bosal will NOT fit a horse or it will be TOO TIGHT for a horse, it is too tight for my small built 15 hand thoroughbred, it fits my 13.1 hand pony fine. should fit a pony up to about 14 hands as long as they don't have a horse-sized head. it is not described as a PONY SIZED bosal & that is what it is, so i kept it for my pony. A bosal is a riding or training device & you do not want it to be tight-fitting, nor too loose, the bridge of the horse's nose is VERY sensitive, so it needs to fit properly & be used with good hands & a nice loose rein. little bumps is the proper way to use a bosal, not for pulling or tight grips on the reins. proper fit is important. this bosal is fine other than it being too small.

Most of the bosals today are coming from India and are not well made. This one is made in Mexico and is stiff and ruff on the inner nose piece. For those of you looking to make a bosal horse you want a flexible bosal with snap back. Like I said their quality could be better but it is still better than the stuff made overseas. I would like to see them offer a softer made bosal with a smooth inside for use in training hackamore horses or for going totally bit less like so many of the natural horsemanship gurus are suggesting. Obviously Charros prefer a stiffer bosal than Vaqueros. But if you only plan to use for a few months sand it, oil it and use it. Don’t forget to shape your bosal before putting it on your horse!
