It's actually a good set up for the money. Bass was lacking to say the least! But I like the body style and this preloaded pick guard gave the bass that deep funky sound. I would recommend this set up to anyone who likes that deep funcky sound!!!

The pickups sound great, the pots do what they are supposed to do...great product. You'll need to buy additional screws and springs for the pickup install...and perhaps the foam inserts under the pickups if you need it. The pickguard should come with all this, but does not. Another nickle and dime somewhere else.

I used one of these to restore an old indonesian P Bass to working order.Be advised however this pickgaurd is for American made instruments only, and will not fit the imported metric using models. The electronics however were easily transferred to one that did. They have a good, fat tone to them, and the pots are smooth and non scratchy. A good value for building a bass on a budget.

All the pics for the product show a 1 ply black, and the description also says this. What I got was a 3 ply black/white/black (Pics provided). Not what I wanted. A bit beat up, the finish on one the knobs is a lil scuffed. For the time it took to get here, pretty disappointed.

OK, so this is an incredibly cheap deal. You kind of expect there will be problems. Let me first say, that if you are making your own p-bass knock off, or massively re-doing a trashed p bass, and price is the most important factor, then this loaded pick guard is the thing for you. That said, let me tell you what I observed:1) I have a 2001 Chinese Affinity P Bass that was destroyed and needed a major overhaul. The pick guard I bought (this one) did not fit, especially the pickup location, which was about 1/4 inch off, and the area around the neck needed to be dremeled out about 1/16". The screw holes did not match the old ones. But if you are just drilling new screws in a newly-made body, you don't care about that. Do you mind an extra 1/4" of hole around your pickups? Might not be a deal-breaker.2) The electronics were wired wrong. The bass works the way they wired it, but both knobs turn out to function as volume knobs. It's like you don't have a tone knob. The knobs feel and function OK. The jack and the knobs are OK. The capacitor has a value of 1 micro farad. This is strange, since the standard p bass cap value seems to be .47 micro farads. As wired, this makes no difference, since there is no tone adjustment anyway. I plan to re-wire it as the instructions in the YouTube videos suggest, and then try a few different capacitor values. The pickups work just fine. Some people get this and just throw out the pick guard. It's not a bad deal for the components, but if I am right, and the wiring is wrong, then you may have to re-wire it anyway.3) Shipping takes forever. It comes to you directly from China. As long as you are aware of this, it is no problem. So, get this if you are making your own bass from scratch on a budget.

Not sure how they do this for the price. Fitted my Vantage P bass with little effort. Sits nice and flat, looks great and even the pickups are pretty good

While it's obviously not the highest quality, it does the job satisfactorily for a fraction of the price of name brand competition. The pickup sounds fine, not great but definitely good enough, and the pots and wiring work just fine from the start. It feels a little bit cheap and the holes didn't line up perfectly, but really for the price it is more than adequate quality.

Let me start off by saying that this is an okay pickguard with functioning electronics. It is not Mind-blowingly awesome, nor is it terrible. **6/10**I picked one of these up so I could get a cheap complete set of bass components for a cheap G. Burton P-Bass knockoff. The neck pocket on the pickguard was a bit too small, but this posed no problem because I just stripped the parts I needed and tossed the plastic bit. The tone on the pickup is alright, nothing to write home about. It could stand to have a bit more presence, but hey, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a cheap prewired pickguard for a budget build it's basically perfect. If you're getting this to replace what you have on your current bass be aware that you might have some fitting issues.
