These plates are great for high-usage areas such as an environment with multiple day-to-day operational uses in high and low-density applications and the overall distinction for this product is satisfying. Multiple plates are used for large dwelling units that have more than 1 appliance and are great wear and durable.

Think charger size plates. In other words, you don't eat off them, they only serve as a place/charger to put your other pretty plate on top. Some have said they are great for a buffet or family gatherings. Only an adult could manage this plate. I would not let children or elderly people try to juggle this plate in a line around a buffet area in your home. It's HUGE and heavy. They are very well made and if your guests are younger and you've got them for a holiday meal or other gathering you may like these plates. For my family/friends thsese will not work. Too big and too heavy. I bought these because one reviewer said the 10 inch plates came in and they were actually smaller. These are true to size.

Heavy weight, very sturdy plates. These are the sort of thing you might see at a buffet restaurant. Ideal for me since we break a lot of dishes in my house. Love the size - we use these 8 inch plates for every meal, great for portion control. The center isn't perfectly flat, if you put a small about of sauce/broth on the plate is pools in a ring, as the center is slightly high.

I was looking for slightly smaller plates to use for dinner parties after watching guests pile plates full of food they didn't always eat. The slightly smaller size these 9" plates are keeping our guests in check when dishing up, and now we use them for every day use to keep ourselves in check. The bonus is how well they fit in the dishwasher, as our previous, larger plates did not allow for side by side rows of dirty plates, but these pretty and sturdy plates work in both sides of our dishwasher's (Miele) plate racks, letting me wash up to 28 plates at a time.The only negative to these was that several arrived broken, as they aren't packaged as well as one might expect, however, as usual, Amazon was there to ship me a second set for free and they arrived in time for our planned event. Amazingly, the second shipment was identically packaged, and there wasn't a single broken plate.
