The only negative aspect of the lens was that the ribs were slightly soiled. Otherwise,, the lens works great.

This is a replacement for the same lens that I have wore out. I have much more expensive lenses, but this is an excellent all around lens to carry for general purpose use. My previous lens had many thousands of shots, but got to the point of rattling and being loose. I gave that one away but had to replace it. This is a refurbished lens, but appears brand new. It is solid and works well. I would recommend this lens as an all purpose general lens. It won't replace better lenses but does quick and dirty on the fly work.

I'm a videographer who shoots with several different DSLR's. This lens is excellent if you want to cover a broad range of situations. Zoom lenses get a knock because they're not prime, and this one isn't as fast as a prime would be, but compared to "oh wait, hang on a second, let me change lenses", I'd take this one every time. At it's widest it's useful in a 10x10 room, but not for being super wide. 18mm doesn't generally look very fish eye. At mots telephoto, it has nice depth of field and is still within a range where I can shoot video handheld and have it look good (with practice). If you throw it on a tripod, no problem with that. It is great when there's plenty of light, and I can make it work just fine with lower light levels, but there are some situations where I'd add additional light when it's really dim. The zoom lock feature is also nice for when it's all packed up. I've used this with adapters to put on a Panasonic GH4, Canon M50, Canon R5, and Canon C70. I shoot video professionally about every day and recently filmed a feature documentary using this lens.

Only thing I don’t like is that the pic get darker through the viewfinder the more you zoom in

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas who is an avid photographer and I found out she was looking to add this 18-200 lens to her lenses. She noted it did not work correctly as it would not zoom beyond about 155 so was defective. She has returned it and I am waiting on refund but this was just a bad purchase. Guess it did not pay to try to save a little and go with the renewed lens. Will get the new lens from Canon to replace it for her.
