About this item

  • Convenience Wins: No need to use elaborate lures, baiting trays, electronic zappers, or sticky potions. Use proven Bee Warehouse carpenter bee traps to protect property all season long.
  • Designed for Safe Catch & Release If Desired: Bee Warehouse prioritized a catch-&-release bee trap design by including a latch which opens or closes the catch chamber when transporting the bees to be rehomed. We’re proud to provide a streamlined tool for those who want to relocate captured carpenter bees. Just close the chamber latch, take the trap to a remote location & open the easy chamber door to set them free.
  • Patented under D928271 (there my be a typo on your product's label in regards to the patent number)
  • Extra Large Catch Chamber: The extra large catch chamber usually only needs to be emptied once a year; potentially saving you or your loved one from multiple trips up ladders, stairs, or high places.
  • Longer Range of Effectiveness: Bee Warehouse’s carpenter bee traps boast an effective range of 5-15 feet.
  • Other Insects Not Interested: Don’t worry about trapping other types of bees like bumbles, honeys, and leafcutters. Our traps are uniquely designed & crafted to attract only carpenter bees. The pre drilled holes draw in carpenter/boring bees but not other types of insects.

Worked OK for one season. The design isn't good enough as the bees can figure out how to escape it if you leave them in there longer than a few hours.Next spring the bees won't go inside it anymore. They go in the hole and come back out right away. Totally useless.

Unfortunately haven’t caught anything yet and I’ve had it up for a few weeks! Not sure why!

This was as simple as can be to set up and worked great! We had carpenter bees in our fence posts and this worked great to redirect and trap them. Solid price 100% worth it.

WOW. As soon as we put this bee trap on our deck, a bee entered the trap. Once the bee was in trap it attracted the bees. To date we have captured 10 of them. Love this. Would recommend

I swear by this house we've had ours for two years now and I bought another one my older one being we kept one in there keeps calling them in there. Keep the carpenter bees in there it will attract them in there they call them or put off something when they die as well that makes others go in there! I promise it works the newer one they haven't went I yet but the old one after two years is still working!

I received 4 of these traps and the design of them is very good. I've used similar traps in the past with great success. I stated the quality control was lax because of the following: One trap had the hanger installed on the back but three of them did not. As I emptied the parts out of the individual traps, one of the three without the hanger installed had the hanger but no screws for attaching it while the other two had the hanger and the attaching screws. All four did include a screw to hang the trap on your house/deck and a good supply of hole plugs. I deducted one star for the confusing array of hanger issues. Otherwise, great traps so far!

Every year I have had these damn carpenter bees move into my deck. They hover and dive bomb me and the dog every time we come outside! Their hole is in between the banister and the siding of the house so I can't get my hand in there to plug it up as there's only about a 2in gap. They hover right by the steps and my dog is terrified of them bc they stare u down at eye level and start attacking u! So we both take off running down the stairs, ducking and flailing around looking like idiots but I'm allergic and these things are huge and aggressive. Every year I tried everything - oils, sprays, foams, etc. until I found the traps! The year before last I put a different kind of trap out and sure enough within some time I had caught the 4 carpenter bees that had moved in and we were carpenter bee free for 2 whole years! The previous trap I bought has a glass mason jar bottom and although it worked, I didn't like it because it kept getting knocked over and it fell apart. I didn't want to hang it because I wasn't sure where it would work exactly so standing it up on the deck was best.Well I kept spraying and putting oils because I can't get that hole plugged up and I know there's a chance new ones can move in and what do u know? Sure enough here they come again this year! So I found this trap which I LOVE!!!! It's very well made, super sturdy and reasonably priced compared to the others. I like that it's rectangular so it can be sat on the deck instead of hung up and it won't get knocked over. I like that u can set them free, or not, and it's easily opened with the trap door...it even has a closure at the top so they can't crawl back up into the hole when transporting them. The mason jar kind was a pain bc u had to unscrew the mason jar top with the big piece of wood block glued to it AND I even had 1 escape 1 time, it had nowhere to go but fly up and out right into my face basically so that wasn't great. This one comes with everything u need to hang it and several hole plugs...although they don't fill the super small holes in my deck, it's still a nice touch. It says it can take up to a couple weeks to start working and u may have to try several different locations, heights, etc. and to make sure to plug up existing holes so they are more likely to go to the traps. Well, I can't plug up the main hole bc I can't get to it and I put it in the same place as the last one and within 2 days I caught the 1st one! Once u catch one, the others are more likely to follow and sure enough 2 days later a 2nd one! It works super well !!!!Me =2, Carpenter Bees = 0!!!! The 2024 battle has begun LOL!!! I am an animal lover, I don't want to harm honey bees or bumble bees, even tho I'm allergic, I love all animals and I feel terrible for any living thing BUT these guys I'm sorry I AM NOT SORRY!!!! They're SO aggressive and nasty when guarding their holes and they have caused so much damage to my deck plus cost me $ in this ongoing battle so I've no remorse.Thank you to this company for making these well made, super functional, WORKING traps! I will continue to use this kind as long as I need them. Highly recommend!
