I've had a pair of Cerwin Vega D9s since high school and they received light use over the years especially after kids came into the picture. One day after several months of disuse, I decided to watch a movie with my audio system with these speakers and noticed a fluttering sound coming from the speakers. When I pulled out the grills, I could see that the foam surrounds had partially disintegrated. The surrounds were literally crumbling to the touch. Researching options, I came across this repair kit and figured I'd give it a shot. It did take some work to properly prepare with proper cleaning of all traces of the old surround before the new ones can be put in. Someone more experienced or who has done a few of these can probably glue and set the new surrounds by themself but I needed a second pair of hands to assist to make sure I got it centered and set properly. Be sure to search on Youtube for tips on how to center the surrounds to properly mount these. The end results worked great and the speakers have a new life now. It would be interesting to have a brand new set to do a comparison to see if I could tell any difference with speakers repaired using the kit but if there were any audible differences, they are not something most people can tell even if doing an A-B comparison with a brand new set of matching speakers. Visually, the bright orange of the new foam surrounds is a night and day difference from the previous original aged and dull foam surrounds that had mostly disintegrated. It was certainly nice to be able to repair this myself.

Like the other reviewer said, the inner diameter is too big for my E-315 which uses the CVW-15 woofer. Although these are listed on this ad they are not compatible.

They seemed a little to big for my speakers but I tried them anyways and it was a disaster.The glue dries instantly, and as soon as you accidentally touch foam to the paper it stuck for good so there was zero chance for me to be able to position the voice coil..... Needles to say it sounded super bad, I called and got no answer so I left a message and nobody had ever called me back.Now I am back to square 1
