Pops up and ready to use. It did have a strong plastic smell so if you are using it in the house for your chicks maybe open it up and put it in the sun a bit before bringing it in the house. Make sure to put something heavy inside to keep it from blowing awayUsed for the chicks a few weeks ago my chicks seemed to get tall quick so you may need to zip the screen on top. Hose it out when done.

This cage works grrrreat! We have 15 guinea keets in it. Very durable, looks better than just some lame cage and it's large, great value!! Easy to set up just pops open insta cage!!!

So far, so good. I got 6 egg layers and after a week they were a bit big for the 33 gal storage tote I started them in. I knew I was going to need something else. I saw something similar to this on a video and was intrigued. I started going over reviews on Amazon and found this one. I'm so happy I did. As soon as we moved the babies into this enclosure they started running and chasing each other and jumping around. They were so happy to have so much room. It stays cleaner so much longer. There's room for them to move and run and scratch with less wood shavings in their water dish, which is awesome. I haven't had to clean it out or store it yet but I feel like this will be pretty easy. With a waterer, feeder, and brooder, there's still plenty of room. I added a little make-shift 2x4 perch and they love it.

I have a brooder for my chicks but as they are growing so is their mess with the water. This was my solution. I opened one side of my existing brooder and butted this one up to it. A roll of paper towels to cover the gap, pine shavings on the bottom and put their water on a piece of cardboard. Their brooder is now dry, they seem to be sleeping better (dry floor). There hasn't been any problem getting them to go back and forth for water. I even put a handful of their food on the floor of this one and they are super cute scratching and eating like big chickens would. I wouldn't hook up anything that had heat for fear of a melt down or fire but for my problem its been perfect.

This thing is pretty awesome. However, I'm using this indoors and one side doesn't want to pop outward and instead stays inward which triggers my OCD a little and I can't stake it out with being indoors. Also the independent floor mat should have a way to fasten it to the sides as it just gets messed up when the chicks scratch at the ground. Other than those two things it's been perfect for my six chicks to grow and move around in.

This thing is fantastic. I have been raising chickens for many years and this is by far the best bang for your buck. The only problem is where to secure your heat lamp during cold days.
