These rivet nuts have an advertised grip range of .020 to .130. I went to use them today on some 1/8” ( .125 ) Aluminum and they are not even close to working. I was able to make it work by counter sinking the rivet and get an acceptable but not great bubble on the back side. I was pretty disappointed as I specifically ordered these for 1/8” aluminum. Other than this issue they worked OK. The tin container is nice but really should be screw on instead of a loose fit slip on.

Upon installing 45 of these Rivet Nuts, the threads bulled out on one of them. Not a big problem. Drilled it out and installed another one.

I have used about 100 of these rivet nuts so far, as part of doing a "camper van" build. I've had 3 previous camper vans but those began life as factory-built Class B RV's, which I "merely" heavily rebuilt and customized. This time around I am starting from a bare, empty van. These rivet nuts have been essential for installing wall and roof panels, and other assembly processes. Out of the many I've installed, I have found not one single defective rivet nut in the 150 supplied. They appear to be very good quality, with excellent characteristics even when installed using my hand tool. If you use an air tool to install these I expect they would perform equally as well. I highly recommend them.

This is a generous supply of riv nuts for the price, I've just gotten a riv nut setter and am having fun trying it out. Sometimes, these are the only thing that will allow you to put panels together with any kind of speed. The nuts are a good quality, no complaints there. I do appreciate that they come in a metal tin, which has possibilities for reuse when I use all the nuts up. However - you have to watch out for the lid on the tin. It just slides on, and it comes off quite easily. The riv nuts are pretty heavy for their small size, and the lid likes to fly off if you tip the tin over. It also pulls right off when you are picking up the tin. I wish it were more like a container of pellets for an air rifle - almost all of those are metal tins with a thread on top to keep the lid in place.Other than this small complaint, these are a good deal, I will buy more when they run out.

I use a lots of rivet nuts in the custom car builds that I do. These are as good a quality as any I have purchased in the past. The pleasant surprise that came with this order was the packaging. They came in a nice storage tin with a see-thru lid so you can easily identify the contents without having to open the container to do so. Additionally on the side of the tin was printed the size of the nut-serts and even better what size hole to drill. In the past I have always had to go back to the manufacturer's website to get the drill size. This may seem like a small detail, but for me its huge difference that saves me from having to hunt for that information.

Made of carbon steel with zinc plating on the surface that makes them strong and durable and slows down any rust development. These are very good for outdoor applications through steel plate. If it is exposed to weather you do not want a situation where the plate rusts around the rivet nut. You could get that if you used aluminum or stainless rivet nuts. Use these for steel strapping or other thin steel plate where you need to secure a fastener. The tin it comes in is very convenient especially with the clear center section of the lid. Allows you to easily identify the contents without having to read the label. One word of caution, learn how to use your installation tool properly. You need to apply 'just enough' pressure to collapse the crush zone of the rivet nut and not more. If you over compress the rivet nut you might find that the threads are no longer round, making threading of the final fastener very difficult.
