these strings may be great, i haven't played them... i just got my first set in the mail, and the string set is incomplete... no B string... crappy quality control!edit to add: the bass that needed new strings was my lakland 55 94, i had a set of my go to's, ernie ball slinky's. the curt mangan strings went on one of my 4 string basses, after tuning up both basses i can say that side by side the curt mangans are indeed nice strings, marginally nicer than the ernie's... but getting an incomplete set is a deal breaker...

Excellent strings! I've been playing bass for 20+ years, and these have to be the best strings I've played. Very consistent tone, clear bell-like, and once set - they stay in tune.I will be buying more.BTW - an endorser for a national brand (but I buy Curt Mangans). :)
