Love Daiwa products and I have other Daiwa reels. After only 5 months of use and that's not even daily. Maybe a couple times a month, the bail would get hung up when the spool got to the top. I had to contact Daiwa support, pay for shipping. Because it was under the 1 year warranty, they did repair and send back to me. Just got it back - we'll see if it holds up. So, I don't know if it was because I purchased from Amazon and I have always bought my fishing equipment at a local sports store, or what. We'll see.

Awesome little reel. Caught a variety species in Panama including this Roosterfish. Plenty of drag and cranking power. Awesome price. Soon it will be tested in La Paz Mexico.

Por el precio no vas a encontrar nada mejor.Este carrete lo compre para pesca de playa, el tamaño es adecuado, es suficientemente ligero, y aparte incluye el currican y la línea de regalo que son productos originales, lo cual hace que este combo sea una ganga.

I really like the Daiwa BG series reels (I have 6 of 4 different sizes, including this one), but I held out on getting this size because I had two that were the next size larger and two that were the next size smaller. BUT, when I saw that the kit with reel, lure, and braided line was CHEAPER than the reel alone, I took the bait. The lure is way larger than what I would normally use (and not a color I would use), and although I did put the braid on the spool, I didn't like it. Hey, I'm an old guy, and I'm used to monofilament, so I bought a second spool, put monofilament on it, and use it most of the time. I guess if I want to go after bull redfish with this reel, I'll put on the braid spool, but I have two larger, more suitable BG reels for bigger fish. The BG reels are all smooth, cast far, and are less likely to twist line than other reels I have used. They take less effort to crank than Penn spinning reels.

Excelente kit para pesca en agua salada, el carrete es robusto y un poco más grande de lo que esperaba en un tamaño 5000. Pura calidad. Apenas lo probaré en orilla.

Vraiment un combo avantageux. Le BG offre de loin le meilleur rapport qualité-prix sur le marché. Pour votre info, on réussit à mettre presque 300 verges de fil dans le moulinet. Aussi, le leurre est livré avec des trépieds, même s’ils ne sont pas visibles sur la photo.

This is Not a water resistant reel, however it can be use for saltwater, good drag and lightweight. I use the 3000 for light duty shore fishing fluke and small stripers it holds up great just rinse it off with fresh water when you get home. The extra bonus of free line and lure make this a great deal.

I was excited about this reel. Opened up the box and the bag with the items was already torn open. The red Daiwa box was not sealed. Opened the box and found the handle for the reel did not have separate wrapping and there was sand already on the reel. I also noticed the SP minnow that was part of the kit was missing. Requested a replacement, hopefully it will arrive brand new and with everything listed.

I love Daiwa BG reels. I have an older 4500, a slightly newer 5000 and I just bought a new 5000. I'm a creature of habit. If you find something good, stick with it. Some people will fall in love with a specific running shoe and then buy like 5 pairs to have for the future. Well, I'm almost like that with my Daiwa reels, except I use them and don't keep them in the closet for the future. My 4500 I bought probably in 2020? Maybe 2019. It has been a WORKHORSE. I paid probably $105 for it. The 5000 was probably $110 to $120 sometime in the last couple of years. Prices have escalated on everything so I was concerned when I went looking for the new 5000. I found this seller with this reel, braid and lure deal. The reel is of course exactly what I wanted. The braid is the Japanese X-braid company braid and it is 50# and 330 yards. It filled my new 5000. The lure is a Rapala like big-lip trolling type lure. I paid $128 before tax for this new one. So...I think I got a hell of a good deal considering price inflation taking place. I sort of expected a beat up package to show up of a "seconds" reel. NOPE, it came in the original packaging untouched. I took the reel apart and it is just like my two other ones. So smooth. No chatter. Buy a BG and you'll know. The braid is a GREAT add... I don't know what that would cost in the store but it sure was great to have that thrown in. And the lure looks like a great lure. So all in all, super deal.

Not easy to find such great COMBO keeping in mind that the line is almost $30 if you buy it alone and the lure is almost $13 and you get them both for free in that combo with no additional cost to the original price of the reel. The reel itself if a monster which juts handled a big fight with a sting ray on the boat with no flaw let alone the Japanese quality line and the lure. The entire thing is smooth fast, light, durable and sealed which gives the reel an extra advantage using in salt water setup. I am using it mostly on a Tsuanami rod and I am hooked to the entire combination. Thank you Amazon for that bargain and looking forward for more great deals
