This little gem rescued my dead-in-the-water HP laptop. If the little amber light next to the plug no longer lights up, you need one of these. I had already taken apart my laptop so I knew I wanted one of the same length (9.9 in). This one was ever so slightly longer but that was no problem. These models are all a little different, but on mine it was a matter of separating the case, removing the battery for safety's sake, remove the heat sink that covers the cable, then take out the three screws for the hinge that covers the connector. When you replace the heat sink, you should clean the surfaces with alcohol and apply new heat sink grease, so order some now. Some models will not require heat sink removal. Otherwise, a butter knife and a phillips screwdriver is all you need. Just look for DY15 videos. Yea! Thank you Deal4GO!
