I'd never been happy with the sound of my elderly Warwick Corvette 5 and after some research, believed that these would drop in without routing. And yes they did. I'm happy with the bright and punchy tone, and the onboard preamp EQ interacts with them nicely (without the hiss that I had with the MEC stock pickups). The bypass-passive push pull mode works normally as well. The pole pieces are a bit wide for the low/high string spacing, but are fine in the middle, tonally this doesn't seem to be a problem but it may bother some. TL/DR: when installing the DiMarzios I found a bad solder joint in the stock wiring - so I may have blamed the MECs unfairly. Still - I like the sound and am keeping the DiMarzios.

These are supposed to be 5 string jazz bass pickups. No where on the description does it say it won't fit a fender 5 string. It says it on the box though. Luckily, these will fit my 4 string jazz bass so at least I'll get some use out of them.

Replaced my stock pick ups on my Fender Squire 5 string. The DiMarzio pick ups made the B string sound so much better. I had tuned it E to C because the B string sounded so weak, now I can tune it B to G because it sounds so much stronger and I use the B string more then I use the C string.
