I went on a cruise with my sister this past summer to Iceland. We are Scandinavian by heritage and my sister celebrates all things Viking! I thought this would be the perfect gift for her since she takes so much pride in our background. The product is well made and it feels substantial in your hand. She loves it!

The overall look to me is a good representation for the period piece. Its been durable so far, but haven't used it that much. The functionality of the handle took a little bit to get used to. Its not like a normal stein and I don't think it can be really be improved with the curved design. Once I figured out the grip with my thumb on top, it felt right to use.

+ Great for Viking, medieval, or DnD enthusiasts+ Ethically sourced and sustainably made+ Food-safe polishing ensures safe use+ Leakproof, despite natural variations in thickness+ Includes a well-designed bottle opener and a versatile small cup- Hand wash only – requires careful maintenance- Not suitable for hot liquids- Slightly more expensive than a typical novelty gift_____A real horn, Viking-style, to use as a mug? I was instantly intrigued!Whether you're drawn to the aesthetic, looking for a curiosity, searching for a white elephant gift, or even shopping for someone who has everything—especially a DnD buff—this hits the mark! What reassured me most:1- The authenticity of using a real horn—not synthetic materials—to craft the cup. It doesn’t get more natural than that!2- The commitment to sustainability and ethically sourced materials, ensuring no animal abuse or cruelty in the process.3- The food-safe polishing, making it safe for use.I tested the mug, and it is truly leakproof, despite some areas of the walls appearing more translucent (and therefore thinner) than others. But that’s simply the nature of bone. Naturally, you need to be careful with such an item: hand wash only, and avoid hot liquids that might interact with the polishing. (This wasn’t explicitly mentioned, but I personally recommend it.)The set is great—it includes a bottle opener that sits nicely in the hand (check the picture) and a small cup that can be used for shots (or sake) or even as a dipping vessel for sauces. Get creative! While the price might be slightly above a typical Secret Santa budget, it’s well worth it for a unique and special gift, especially since it’s made from true natural materials in a sustainable way. If you know someone who would appreciate this, I highly recommend it—full score!

I have absolutely no legitimate purpose for getting this cup, but I also feel like my life would be incomplete, bordering on meaningless, without it. I guess that's the paradox of online shopping. Who knew? In any case, it's awesome. It comes nicely packaged and it looks really beautiful. The fact that it's made of natural materials, in their natural shape and color, means that each one is a bit different, which is pretty cool too. As I was setting this up under my table lamp, I noticed the wood grain at the bottom of the cup, which is also really cool looking. Shame that it's always buried at the bottom of a pint. The bottle opener is nice and sturdy, and the shot glass looks awesome, although I haven't tried it yet.I do have a couple minor critiques, nothing worth deducting a star, but small areas of possible improvement. First, it wouldn't hurt them to color the grooves on the little Fenrir engraving they have. It doesn't really stand out from the surface of the cup otherwise. And it's not hard to do either. You can just put a little patch of contact paper on that spot before you engrave, then spray paint it right after the engraving is done, and remove the contact paper. The paint gets in the grooves, and nowhere else. Any incidental overspray can be buffed off pretty easily. I haven't done too much engraving, but I've done enough to know that trick. Seems like a missed opportunity. But just to test my theory, I decided to do it myself. Since the engraving had already been done, I couldn't do a paint application, so I did a hot wax pour, and buffed off the excess. I did a bronze metallic thin fill, followed by a matte black cap.The whole process took me less than 10 minutes, and as you can see from the second picture of the Fenrir detail, it shows up much more prominently. I like it better than the original, and tomorrow I'll probably do about an hour of touch-up work, plus a final polish, to make it really look great. It's a real shame they don't do something like that during production. But oh well....Second, there are a few spots along the rim of the larger cup, up towards the handle, where the rim hasn't really been rounded over well, so it's still a bit sharp. Maybe a bit more thorough QA would be nice. Other than those two minor issues, I honestly can't even express how awesome this is. Over the next year, I think everyone I know is going to get one of these. You should get one too!

I have always wanted one of these cups. It is beautifully made. Not sure what type of horn, but it is a decent sized cup. It has a nice wooden bottom and a curved handle. The handle is a bit awkward because it doesn't like up with the slope of the cup's lid, but being it is likely hand made that doesn't bother me. Makes it feel more rustic. My one complaint is that it seems I can feel the fibers of the horn more and more. I don't put it in the dishwasher, obviously, but it just seems a little rougher than when I first got it. Not sure. Could be a normal thing for these types of cups. The shot glass is a cool addition, and drinking some nice bourbon from it just brings it all together. The bottle opener is also made from horn, but a different type. It is very sturdy and definitely does the job.Everything was sent in a nice bag with their logo.I would definitely buy this again.
