I have used EBC Red stuff on my 2008 VW R32 since it was new. I changed originally for the very low dust they output. I have also been in Germany since 1989 and these pads are perfect for the autobahn, no fade at all. This is my 4th set. I also put these on my wife's SLK since I am the one who has to keep it clean. I will use no other brand. There may be others that are as good or better but EBC is what I use no other.

I use EBC redstuff pads every time I change brakes. They are an AWESOME upgrade vs any OEM pads. Affordable, good bite in all temperature, lower dust than OEM, no fade, and a well respected name. I used these on my 2008 R32

The noise is only there during the "braking period" as mechanics would call it, then after that it's quiet after it's been broken in. You have to drive no higher than 50 mph for the first 100 miles if paired with a new rotor (I suggest EBC 3GD series dimple and slotted) to avoid warping and to have proper break in. Over all great stopping power.
