Where to start. Well, I was confused at first that I got the wrong product as it's labeled for gaming? o.OThe case is cool-looking and the screen is neat. Everything seems built well.I never could get it to enter pairing mode to pair it with my phone, though. The instructions for it are very clear, but only one of them would flash when removed from the case to pair and the phone never saw them. Nothing ever saw them.

This product works as described. It functions as wireless ear buds that rest at the opening of the ear canal versus being stuffed into it. The upside to that is the ability to still hear things around you. The downside is a perceived reduction in bass frequencies. That alone does not equate to a negative. The sound output is more than adequate for casually listening to music. The way the ear piece sits on the ear prevents any discomfort from extended use. Also, they are very light and give a "barely there" impression. Connecting Bluetooth was no issue, pairing to the charger case was easy, and adding the device to the EarJoy app was straight forward. The charging case gives the option to control a few things, but there is not much of a need for it once you are connected to your phone. You can use it to take a picture with your phone, perhaps for a group photo, which people might find handy.Once connected to the EarJoy app, the translation feature does work. What that means is that you can use it to translate when desiring to communicate. There are a few options for how to do this, for example, one ear piece in each person's ear, then tap to speak, taking turns, and translation goes to ear pieces. Another example is where the translation outputs to the phone. I tested every option and they all work was described. Optimal performance requires clear and unbroken speech from a single source. If there are pauses, it will begin to translate and the output will be choppy. But, when you take turns speaking, and speak the complete sentence or thought, the translation is consistently 90% accurate, or more. This product would not be able to be used to translate conversations between people that are not using the product. What I mean is that this product would perform very poorly as a "listening in" device. A lot is being offered by this product, at this price point. I would have paid the advertised price just for ear bud functionality, if I needed something that allowed me to still hear my surroundings. Overall, this is a very good product that did perform as advertised.

I really wanted these to work for translation. The case looks cool, the interface is interesting, but connecting the earphones, the case, and the phone is a real pain. Even once I had the app downloaded and finally got the earphones, case, and phone all connected the translation was slow and clunky. I have native mandarin and english speakers in my home and when I tried using the earphones to follow a conversation in mandarin the app was so far behind the conversation in lag that it ended up skipping large chunks of the conversation. Plus it did not correctly translate the conversation it did pick up. The translation it gave was full of nonsense that wasn't even part of the conversation. The worst part was that every time the phone would darken the screen to save power it caused the app to disconnect the earphones and the case. Then getting them to reconnect was another hassle again. The AI of this product just doesn't seem that intuitive or smart. And considering the apps poor ability to stay connected, I just don't feel this product is worth buying. I really wish the translation worked the way it is advertised, but it doesn't. It is not adequate for actual real in person conversation. Even when you slow down and wait for it to keep up it still incorrectly translates the conversation anyway. Some of it is a little funny, but if you actually want to have a serious conversation this is just going to make it harder to communicate.

I was really disappointed by these. They directions were hard to follow (it wasn't just me) and it was difficult to get it synced with the phone. I had to go to the site to really see what I was doing wrong. The quality of the ear bud part were good, not great, they were more comfortable than in-ear ear buds, but TBH bone conductors work better. The box with the display is a great idea, but the good stuff ends there. The translation was not what I was hoping it would be, I think AI technology will eventually solve this problem, but they could not keep up with a normal conversation even if the folks speaking paused a little. Again, trying to figure this out was challenging but I finally was able to connect. For the price, if you are looking for an ear bud that works well you can find a better quality for less money. Wait for the translator ap technology to improve before you try this.

We have not had a lot of opportunity to use the translation, but using just as earpieces, my wife loves them! She said that she would never try ones that latch over the ear, only ear buds for her. I convinced her to give these a try and now she will never go back. She sleeps with these in her ears to listen to rivers and other comforting sounds. The case is really nice and provides an extra layer of security for the pieces.

They do not have a decent battery. It lasted barely 3 hours after charging over night initially. Also, they are not loud enough to wear only 1 at a time which I have to do for work.I didn’t even get up try out the translation.
