The Japanese Juniper (Juniperus procumbens Nana) is the most popular tree for Bonsai because of its compact foliage and ability to train branches into popular shapes. The Japanese Juniper Bonsai is best suited for patios or outdoor areas, requiring good indirect sunlight and moist watering conditions. The Japanese Juniper is cold-hardy and can withstand temperatures below freezing.

Ordered this for my husband to find that it's meant to be an outside plant. We tried our best to keep it alive but it died within the month.

Received this as a gift for Christmas. Very nice tree with supplies. However, not enough detail about how often to water the plant. I plan to contact the seller for this information.Unable to keep tree alive. Dead within 6 month and disappointed. Followed instructions and even contacted seller, but dissappointed in this plant.

I love this and so do all of my co-workers. I'm a male and all the girls like to stop by and ask questions about it, so that's a huge plus. I wanted something in the office that would be easy to take care of and show some longevity. This really does the trick. I have an LED grow light that I use off and on throughout the day. maybe for about 6 total. Came with care instructions. Some very nice and sharp pruning scissors and some fertilizer that you dissolve into water. I made some pretty big first cuts and it looks very similar to the one in the picture. The pot it comes in is very nice and does have 2 large holes in the bottom to let out excess water, so make sure you have a plate underneath to catch the excess water. I water daily and after a few weeks it still looks the same the day I bought it. I will probably update this review in 5 months, unless I've managed to kill it by then. Stay tuned. All I need now i a little sand zen garden and I will be at peace in the office (HAH!)

bought this for my wife for Christmas. She loved it! It comes with everything you need to get started in the bonsai hobby, including a mature tree! She loved being able to clip the tree exactly how she wanted and the little statue that comes with it is a really nice touch. Had some problems with shipping. It was the week of Christmas though and can't knock them for that. They sent an extra tree to make up for it. Would definitely order from them again.

AWESOME!!! I wasn't sure about ordering this tree, but the reviews were all SO MUCH BETTER than others I read, and even one I ordered. I CULD NOT BE MORE HAPPY!!! My tree is SO full & lush. Even flawlessly elongated & asymmetrical like the photo. ....honestly my tree is BETTER looking than the photo! I completely expected a tiny twig. I wulda been okay with that. As long as it was healthy, the idea of bonsai IS THE PROCESS after all. But I was so surprised & utterly delighted! I will definitely be buying another for a gift. It's so perfect for a beginner so I'm going to get my mom one. As a beginner it was so nice to finally come across a GREAT specimen at a reasonable price! I hope I get to njoy it for many years!!! I literally just got it out of its packaging. I was so happy I HAD TO WRITE A REVIEW. (I never do)

This one however, is started for you and is both durable and resists most desease even as it gets older, making it the very best for a starter as a bonsai enthusiest.When mine was delivered, it was well packed for protection and was very healthy.All included were, the guide(instructions for care, the pruning snip, the 7-8-6 bonsia fertlizer, and the figurine of the old fisherman,of wich is a nice finnishing touch to a cute tree like this

If you are in the market for a bonsai, either you watched way too much Karate Kid, or you just want a nice ornamental tree for your home or office. Either way - these trees are a great way to connect on a more meaningful level with a plant. I always look forward to caring for my bonsai. This is the first time I have ever felt like a plant is really more like a pet.As for the product - it was very well packaged and came quickly after I placed the initial order. The tree did seem small. This was my initial reaction when I pulled it out of the box.I bought one for my wife, and hers just didn't have that "bonsai vibe" to it... I felt like mine somewhat had that mystical, Mr. Miyagi appeal, but either way our initial reactions were, "Did somebody just take a branch off a cedar tree and stick it in a pot?"Anyway - I give a 5 star rating because the trees are in great health, and we have grown to love them. I do feel like this is a great starter kit. I may attempt to order more bonsai in the future, but I will try to find ones that are larger.
