How It Works:
The condensate trap uses a U shaped channel (gradient design) to prevent backflow into the HVAC unit. Its built in overflow switch monitors water levels and activates a signal or shuts off the system if levels get too high, preventing overflow.
How to Use:
Connect the Trap: attach the 3/4-inch PVC condensate trap to the condensate drain line of your HVAC system.
Connect the Wire: connect the 6ft wire to either the red or yellow thermostat wires.
Test the System: once installed, test the system to ensure the water flows freely through the trap and the overflow switch is functioning properly.
Clean Regularly: use the included 16-inch cleaning brush to maintain the trap and remove any debris that may accumulate inside.

I have installed 6 heat pumps in the last year and I found this type of trap on the first one and have been using them on them all since. this one has a built in float valve that send s signal tot he furnace to shut it off is the trap plugs and starts to overflow. This is a nice safety feature. This support both 1" and 3/4" PVC pipes using the included adapters. I am happy with the order.

This is a great all-in-one kit to get your HVAC system to a better place with respect to condensation drain and emergency shut-off. Let's face it, condensate is nasty stuff. It is acidic so you don't want to handle it or drain it where you have plants that don't like acidic soil. The stuff will also eat away the galvanic coating on sheet metal too. This condensate drain allows you to see that the condensate is actually flowing out of your HVAC system while also providing the necessary trap to ensure gases don't back fill into the A coil. Lastly, the included shut-off can be wired in between your 24v thermostat so that it will shut down the HVAC unit if the condensate does somehow get backed up. The included cleanout brush is a very welcome addition to the kit so that you don't get your hands dirty. All around great kit worthy of 5/5 stars.
