This was an item we came across when vacationing in Costa Rica and it works so well keeping flying bugs away from your food. Batteries seem to last for our amount of usage (1–3 nights of eating outside in the summer months).

The height is not adjustable. Once fully opened you can’t reduce the size. This is an issue since when fully extended the flies can fly underneath.
