  • Our traps attract all common flies, including: house flies, blow flies, flesh flies, stable flies, phorid flies, drain flies, face flies, deer flies, cluster flies and tachinid flies.

  • Double bag the trap, i.e. tie a plastic bag around it, then tie another around that, then put it in the outdoor trash. Double bagging with prevent the smelly liquid leaking into your trash can.

  • Our traps attract flies from over 30 feet away. We advise replacing the trap after 3 month or once the bag becomes full, which ever is sooner. If the water level drops via evaporation, you can top it up with fresh water as many times as needed.

  • We use all natural ingredients which are not harmful (egg, fish, bran, yeast), so your dog will be fine.

  • While it looks gross, this will actually make the trap even more attractive to flies as it will smell even stronger. So you can keep using the trap until it is full, even if maggots start to grow inside.

1 week update: The one in my front yard is almost FULL of flies. There's been a probably 90% drop in flies buzzing around my workbench when I'm in the garage. There's a dwarf apple tree of some sort full of rotting fruit so they won't completely go away, but the decrease in numbers has been great! I don't notice the smell unless I'm right next to the bag and there's no sign of leaking yet. Most of the liquid is gone so I'll probably throw it out and put up a new one soon. The one out back was ripped open probably by a raccoon but it still caught enough that my dog and I aren't being swarmed by house flies in the yard again yet! Wish I'd bought these years ago!Pests of all varieties have been driving me and my dog insane this year; deer flies, fleas, mosquitoes, biting gnats, and house/horse flies. I haven't used this kind of bag trap (even though I know they work) because they're stinky and a pain to dispose of but I'm desperate and SO GLAD I did. I put the first two out about a day and a half ago, one towards the street in the front yard and one hung in a tree out past the fenced-in part of my back yard. They were easy to open (cut a little past the dotted line or the top won't pull out easily), kind of awkward to fill in the shallow sink faucet (I'll use a spigot next time and let the sun warm them up), but they come with a nice hanging wire and it took maybe 2 minutes to set them up. There's no sign of leaking at least in these two.And wow do these things work!!! The one out front has a solid INCH of dead flies in it already. They're buzzing around the top all but fighting each other to squeeze inside and get caught! I haven't gone that close to the one in back, but for the first time all year, I went to pick up my dog's "business" tonight and it wasn't swarmed with flies by the time I walked across the yard! I haven't noticed any smell yet, but I also put them far enough from the house that it shouldn't be a problem. Now, one bit of false advertising is that these will NOT catch deer flies. Maybe the odd one by accident, but deer flies don't hunt by scent. The stinky bait in these will catch regular house and horse flies, probably most of the other varieties listed, but not deer flies. Those little jerks hunt by sight, looking for horizontal motion. They ARE attracted to the color blue, which maybe is why they claim this trap will catch them, but it's not moving and they won't be attracted to the scent of the bait, so they probably won't go inside.I normally use sticky traps for wasps and flies but the Rescue wasp traps have gotten EXPENSIVE the last couple years. The smaller Rescue fly traps aren't quite as expensive, work great, but are full in under a week so those get expensive too. (Yes, FULL, like someone rolled them in a bunch of dead flies!) I tried the really cheap Black Flag brand yellow sticky traps and those were a joke, nothing stuck to them and they fell apart in days. If you don't have that bad of a problem, or don't want to deal with the potential mess and stink of these traps, get the Rescue ones. If you're being driven absolutely batty by flies, get these traps!

I bought these Fly Traps for my chicken coop this summer, and they work great! Setting them up is super easy—just cut along the dotted line, pull up the cap, fill with water, and hang them outside. The flies are attracted by the smell and color of the traps, and they get trapped inside, keeping my coop area much more comfortable. The traps use a unique 2-in-1 bait that's not overly stinky, so they don't attract more flies than necessary. The natural bait ingredients are a bonus, and I don't have to worry if my pets get too curious. The traps are also rainproof, so I can hang them anywhere outdoors, even in sunny or low-wind areas. Once they're full, it's easy to double bag and dispose of them. These fly traps have been perfect for keeping my coop fly-free, and I highly recommend them for anyone dealing with flies outdoors!

When I used fly tape, I got excited about catching five or ten flies. This caught thousands of flies in just a few days! The attached picture is of this fly trap completely full after less than a week. All of the black stuff in that bag in the picture is thousands of dead flies! I had a horrible fly problem in my backyard, which is in a suburb in the desert (not where you'd think of as being fly central), and picking up the dog poop every day and hanging tons of strips of fly tape didn't seem to help at all. I still have no idea why we had so many flies. Seeing one of these fill up was very satisfying, though we were still plagued by tons of flies. It took filling about three of these up over a month or so to really solve our problem, and we have almost no flies now. Now, it definitely can stink. We have a small backyard, so we hung it as far away as we could (maybe 20 feet away from our back door/patio), but can still sometimes smell it strongly. It depends on the direction of the wind and the temperature (smells a lot worse when it is hot and sunny). It also takes some time for it to really smell, and gets progressively worse as it fills with flies that begin to decompose. But it isn't a huge deal, because it shouldn't take too many of these bags to get rid of your problem, it may only smell for the second half of the time that you have it hanging (for example, if it takes two weeks to fill, it may only smell for the second week, and then you change it out), and you won't smell it constantly (again, depends on weather and wind direction).Tips for where to hang:1) Obviously, hang it near where the flies hang out2) Flies tend to hang out in the warm and sunny part of the backyard. This does work best in the sun (but it will also smell worse in the sun)3) Flies spend most of their time low to the ground, so it will work best low to the ground. If you can't hang it low, however, it works well enough hung up a little higher4) If you have dogs, hang it away from their reach!!! Dogs will be dying to get into this because of the smell. And if they get into it, you need to wash the awful smelling liquid off of them. However, because the bait is so attractive to the flies, where you hang it is not as sensitive as where you hang fly tape. I've had some fly tape locations catch ten times as much as locations just a foot or two over. With this stuff, I haven't had an unsuccessful location!
