I bought these traps several times last year, from a big box store, and caught several hundred yellow jackets. I live in the high desert of central Arizona, and I was amazed at how many of the d**n things are around. They seem to last up to a couple of weeks before the bait becomes ineffective.

For the past four years and after a miserable late summer and early fall prior, we've relied on the RESCUE! Disposable Yellowjacket Traps to keep our outdoor spaces enjoyable and sting-free. Setting them out in early spring has consistently resulted in a significant reduction of yellowjacket activity throughout the summer months. The traps are straightforward to use—simply add water, hang them up, and let them do their job. It's been satisfying to see the immediate impact, with yellowjackets drawn away from our gatherings and into the traps. This proactive approach has made our backyard barbecues and garden relaxation much more pleasant. Highly recommend for anyone looking to minimize yellowjacket nuisances during the warmer seasons.

I live in Maryland. Never really considered the damage yellow jackets could do inside a home. Had a very large nest coming through the ceiling in my bedroom last year. After having the exterminator come, then I had to have the ceiling patched and repainted. Meanwhile, seeing a lot of folks in my area posting in our community Facebook having similar problems. They apparently are getting really bad. I now take these monsters very seriously. Researched how to control them and found this product. I put out four traps around my property on April 22. (Folks recommend late April-early May so that you can catch the queens before they establish their nests in your home, ground, etc.) Anyway, I was amazed. In three days, I had caught over 30 queens!!! I plan to keep them up through the summer and into the fall to keep the numbers of workers down as they come out of the nests.I highly recommend this product!!!

Maybe I just got a bad batch but this stuff does not work at all. I have terrible flies this time of year and they all hang out at my door. I put a bag 25 feet away to draw them away from my door and I have not gotten one fly in 2 months. I have changed the bag once to see if maybe I just had a bad bag. I usually buy them at the feed store. I guess that is what I will do from now on.

They work awesome, we added some sweet juice in them and we had like 40-50 caught inside

We always have great luck using these in the past. This year we placed in about the same spot as last year and even though we've had an increase in yellow jackets, the two we've hung outside have not caught a single yellow jacket.

We've used this brand of this trap for years, and they have worked well for us. Be sure to get the right one for your part of the country, and remember that they only work on yellow jacket wasps, not on everything. You may need to try several locations. I used to put one on each side, but found that one side didn't catch very many wasps. The trap that caught a lot was also in the direction that yellow jackets seemed to come from. I now hang up only one, on a tree branch in that corner of the property. (This is an attractant, so you want it *away* from the place you're protecting.)As I've used the same tree branch for years, I've worked out a system. First, I tied a piece of sturdy string around the tree branch. This should be a little loose, to give the tree some room to grow. Then I found a biggish metal paperclip (just the cheap, ordinary kind that any office has) and hooked that over the string. By prying the outer wire just a little away from the rest of the paperclip, I can slide the old one off and the new one on the clip in a matter of seconds. On bag-changing day, I cut the plastic off the top before I go outside, and I bring a bottle of plain tap water to fill it after it's hanging. (It needs 3 cups, or about 750 mL – any old soda bottle works well.) The old bag goes straight in the trash, and the now-empty bottle goes in the recycling bin next to it. The paperclip will last forever, and the string lasts for several years. In my neighborhood, a bag has the biggest effect on the first day or two and seems to suppress the number of uninvited visitors to our picnic table for about a month. Usually I put them out for a couple of months when the weather turns hot and dry, from July to October. We don't have problems with yellow jackets the rest of the year.

It has to hang out so close to the nest to trap them. And it takes too long to kill all wasps if their nest is around your house.
