This is the type of system that either functions or it doesn't. It falls inline with all its competitors and a competitive price point and offers all the same features. The rails are of course incredibly light and the aluminum base itself feels solid and well built. Nothing I toyed with had any sharp edges or bad machining.It does add a bit of heft to your rig of course but if you need something to mount a follow focus and a battery, this is it. I came from a v-mount baseplate which was considerably smaller in footprint and it always felt terribly unbalanced and awkward. This is a massive upgrade even when not strapping on a follow focus simply for stability off mount. Easy recommendation if you need it.

Excellent precision and fit and finish. Very light carbon fiber rail. This is professional quality. Sold aluminum platform with many attachment points. This will hold all your video gear such as focus follower and v-mount plate. They adjustment screws are well made and quickly tighten and release.

On the bottom of this camera base there are 9 holes for mounting your tripod plate to keep the camera securely on the tripod. Unfortunately, only of them is centered on the plate and it is the larger 3/8 size. THis would allow your camera to twist right off the tripod plate if lifted incorrectly.
