Not particularly difficult to install once you know to stick a screw driver in the two slots underneath the front of the electronics panel to pop it off. Installed and frost around the ice chute disappeared. I've had to replace multiple times on an old GE and this was two years into a brand new frig, I would say not a particularly well engineered part with designed in failure.

Old flap was curling at edges and allowing ice making parts to frost up and jam.Easy replacement. frame pulled off, four screws to remove control block, old flap pops off, new one pops on.Once again getting good seal when flap closes so as long as no cube jams it open, no more frost,

So I was noticing a lot of frost inside my GE side by side refrigerator on the freezer side - right near the ice chute. Googled the issue and found it was most likely a failure of this part. While it was still closing, the rubber gasket had deteriorated a bit and was not creating a tight seal, so warm air was getting up the chute. Very easy to replace the part, took me about 5 minutes. However, as others stated here, the top of the gasket gets caught up on the plastic frame and does not close all the way. I saw some other reviewers note they had to trim the rubber a bit. I did this with very sharp scissors and only trimmed away a minimal piece, then tried it. Still stuck. Trimmed some more and tried again, still stuck. After a few trims, I got it to where it closed every time and still covered the opening 100%. Had to trim straight across the top to create a flat top. Be aware that after the ice dispensing stops, it takes about 3-4 seconds for the door to close, this is normal. At first I thought it was another issue, since I never noticed it do that before. Guess i just never paid attention. But no more frost and less than $10, I'm happy. The spring and solenoid were still in good shape, so I did not replace those.
