Had this for a while and it still works good. It's nice to know what I am adding to my popcorn. This makes it a health snack.

What can I say? It works like it should, less mess and convenient. You’re gonna want to nuke your butter separately but that’s minor. I also use mine for roasting coffee beans it actually works better than a purpose built I borrowed from a friend. Just pull the butter tray off the top and block the chute with aluminum foil, do it outside btw.

Our family loves this popcorn maker. It’s so easy to use. Just aDF kernals and turn on. We melt some butter on the top and run that dish through the dishwasher on the top shelf. You can put up to a half cup of kernels in which is enough for myself, husband, and 2 kids to have a descent portion of popcorn for a snack.

I have come to the conclusion that there truly ARE no reliable air poppers out there anymore. My old popper (a Hamilton Beach) from at least 15 years ago - with regular use - finally died. So I bought a new one (a new Hamilton Beach) -- it lasted 3 months. So I bought this one. It made it through 2 uses before it started overheating and smoking. It DID re-set itself (after sitting for 30 minutes) but it doesn't bode well for longevity for this item. I can't return it because I (stupidly) threw the packaging away. But it's clearly just junk and made cheaply and I have no confidence it will last even a few months. And no - it wasn't overfilled. No, we weren't making batch after batch no allowing it to cool down. Going to give up now, and buy a stovetop version instead.

I like this popper. It works well and I like that it came in a color other than black, white, or some fruit flavor. The mint green is nice looking. One thing I really like is that it has an on-off switch. So many other poppers just plug into the wall or unplug, for on/off. Come on, we are not living in Postwar East Germany here, not having a power switch just screams 'CHEAP'. I keep my popper plugged in as it gets frequent use. I looked at and rejected a bunch of others that expected me to play 'Hooterville Telephone Switchboard' with the power. One thing I am not crazy about is that the upper clear 'chute' part does not fit tightly or deeply enough into the base. That is a serious fault with me... more than once the chute got jammed up with popped corn while it was still popping and when I jarred the machine to clear it, the whole chute fell off and popcorn popping all over the place. I think I'm going to find some way to permanently attach the spout. I wish I'd found a vintage Weaver Popcorn Pumper because THAT is the best hot air popper I've had. Still this one is OK if you deal with the spout that doesn't attach very strongly.

When I was looking for an air popper I looked at a lot of different ones and read a lot of reviews. Since the air pushes the popped kernels up and out of the chute, they'll tend to bounce around. It's the nature of the device. Easy fix. I just place my kitchen towel over the end of the chute which prevents kernels from flying all over and they land in the bowl I have placed underneath. You'll lose a few un-popped kernels as they get caught and carried up and out of the chute with the popped kernels. Not the end of the world. I'm saving a ton of calories from not popping my popcorn in oil, and my popcorn does't taste oily anymore. Good trade. Now I can enjoy a bowl of popcorn anytime I want. If I had one critique, is that he hood dislodges easily, so I have to be careful not to bump it. I also like the color as it matches my kitchen. Yes. I recommend this device.

I have discovered that there are two basic designs and only one works well. It has to do with how the hot air blows in. The good ones, like this, blow in from the bottom center. Kernels well up in the middle of the pile and slide down at the edges. They all stay down in the popper and when they pop there are others on top to keep them from flying out. The bad design blows air in from slots in the side causing cyclonic movement. The kernels climb up the side and when they pop they often fly out onto the counter and/or propel unpopped kernels out.The instructions say to wait 15 minutes between batches. I don't and it works just fine. I make it a point to be there the whole time and to turn it off immediately just to be sure.

Works well. Adds a pop of color to the counter, and I love the on/off switch. Air poppers tend to spit out a few kernels, so what. Even with microwave popcorn, there are kernels left. There is no popcorn maker on the market that pops 100% of the kernels you put in it, so I'm not sure why there are so many complaints. It's not like it pops three kernels and spits out the rest. If it does, the popper is defective or you're doing it wrong. Also, read the instructions! Use a WALL OUTLET, preferably a GFCI. (Not an extension cord, not some weird Chinese adapter with USB ports, not a loose outlet, etc.) And make sure you don't use over 1/2 cup of kernels at one time, or you could risk Poppageddon.
