This is a good heavily made inlet plug. The outside socket has a tight fitting rubber cover. The socket it large enough to accept any reasonably sized power cord. I plan to drill a small hole through the siding of our house and the outer floor joist and then install this inlet plug in an out of the way place in the basement. If we ever have an extended power outage I can set up a generator a safe distance from the house and then feed power into the house through this inlet plug without leaving any door or window open a crack. On the inside I can run a heavy extension cord to the refrigerator, freezer or even to the furnace. Not all at once of course. But alternately to each one so as not to overload the 20 amp circuit. This is my low cost, safe standby power plan.

I love these adapters for going through trailer walls or even pickup cabs for when you have a need for a power inlet. For the trailer I use them through the front wall to charge onboard batteries. In the pickup I ran it through a floor compartment so I could plug in a small AC unit for when I have my puppy in the truck and the truck is off. Super simple to use and you could always cut the cord if you need and hard wire it into a box or attach your own receptacle.

I'm building out a new camper van and like my old one I have a 30amp and 20amp line for it. I like being able to having a line in that I only need to get direct 120v 20amp power from without going through a battery bank and inverters. I usually plus the AC into it directly on a really hot summer day if I have access to a shore line. This was well made but I did notice the gasket holes for the cap don't line up to the holes in the base if you want the cap at the top. Not a big deal but I don't think that was the intended location. The size of the extension is fine for length as anything other then a large power draw time I wouldn't want a lot of extra cord. I checked the continuity of each wire and they all were good. Installation is just 3 screws and a hole but I use M8 screws and bolts with thread locker just to make sure it's a good seal and stays that way. Well made and a good value. Recommended purchase.

Works with 20A and 15A plugs. Waterproof. I used it for adding a charging plug for my camper van. Really good price. Fully molded and easy to install.

My truck sits for a month or so at a time between being driven. As a result, the battery is rarely in great shape to start up when I do decide to drive it. SO I decided to install a charger under the hood, and connect it to this, through a hole in the side of my custom bumper. Now i can grab my retractable spool extension cord on the side of the house, drag it to the truck, lock it and plug it in without any hassle.

March 2025🍎 Summary - If you’re thinking about using one of these RV Shore Power Inlet Plug, I don’t think you could go wrong with this product. This is one heavy duty product without doubt. Go for it!🕮 Notes – your application may be different - but remember to think outside of the box when you can.🕮 Golf Cart Application: our golf cart came with a built-in lithium-ion battery charger under the seat. So, every time we needed to charge the battery, we needed to snake a 3-wire power cord to the charger’s short pigtail. It was a bother. My goal was to use this RV Shore Power Inlet Plug to bring AC power directly into the interior compartment without having to play games with the seat, the blankets and a few pillows.🕮 Installation was easy after determining exactly where I wanted to mount the recessed plug of the RV Shore Power product. You’d need a 2” hole saw and a drill bit to predrill three (3) mounting screws. That’s it. After installation under the seat all I had to do was plug the charger pigtail into this RV Shore Power pigtail and I was done. Now all I must do is bring out the end of the extension cord and plug its end into the recessed outlet and charge away.✅ The entire product is 20” front to back with 14.25” being the pigtail cord.✅ The cord is super duty SJTW 12 AWG and rated at 300V✅ Yes, the pigtail end will accept several different pin configurated plugs✅ The recessed end comes with a rubber ring washer to which a rubber plug is attached to cover it while not in use. The cover is tight while easy to install or remove.❌ It was disappointing to see that the holes of the rubber ring did not match up to the recessed receptacle mounting holes, as the photos show. If for some reason you didn’t plug the receptacle and it rained, there is some potential for water to enter. This is a minor manufacturing issue they could easily correct. Regardless, you could still mount the ring/plug correctly just by drilling through the rubber ring when you mount the unit.

this is a great item for wanting to create something that's powered by an extension cord. In my case, I installed this on the chicken coop I built so that I could run an extension cord to it and have an easy plug in. Eventually, I'll run permanent electrical u/g to it, but for now it's in a bit of a temp location and so this was the perfect item to clean up my install. Yes, I didn't really have to use this, but I like it. I'd previously used on on my boat for connecting to my battery charger, another great application.
