The basic re-hairing was simple. It combs nicely. As another reviewer pointed out, the hair can be melted together at the ends to make it easier to set the hair in the bow.Getting the bow to hold rosin was the tricky part. The issue is that the hair is too smooth, and you need to fix that problem. I fixed it with sandpaper, (I had 130 grit, so I used 130 grit). I cut off a small triangle and bent it in half to hold it with my finger tips, and then I firmly pressed the hair together with my fingertips and haphazardly scratched the hair up and down a few times over the length of the bow. The sandpaper had a bit of the synthetic hair material on it when I was done, but none of the hairs broke or pulled out. Then I wiped it with a clean cloth. The bow only took rosin once I had sanded the hair in this way. If you use this and you're having difficulty getting the bow to take rosin, try sandpaper on the hair. I spent hours trying to rosin the hair, clean the hair, re-rosin the hair, undo the frog, re-set the hair, re-rosin the hair, etc.... and none of that worked. I spent 5 minutes with the sandpaper, and the hair started taking rosin immediately.

I tried to install it but looks and function could be better. It is much better to buy complete new bow

This hair works okay, but almost immediately refused to tighten enough. I really want to find good quality synthetic horse hair, as a vegan. This one is just okay.

I really liked this synthetic hair for the first week of playing, but after two months the two bows I rehaired are just about useless. The hair is stretched out completely and gets gummed up with rosin and doesn't grip anymore. I can't recommend this at all, even though I really wanted to.

Synthetic hair is basically crap, but it's cheap and it has other benefits. I knew what I was getting when I ordered it. I use it for hairing small bows for bowed psalteries. I get about 4-6 bows from this one hank. I can melt one end over a candle to make a solid ball that fits into my bows, which is way easier than working with natural hair. It works fine for my purpose.Synthetic hair is really not good for violin bows. The rosin doesn't adhere as well as natural hair. Hervex also gets brittle and weakens with age.

Works great! I rehaied my first bow. I think this type of hair will be bow Mite unedible.

Honestly, I got this for my first experiment for bow rehairing. I wouldn't know if it is really as good as I think it is. I recommend it, because I got such a good deal on it.

This is an amazing product. I was so tire of broken horse hairs so I bought this one. It works great and I have-not got a broken hair since. The sound is also very sweet. I use it with Hill dark rosin.
