The bell has a solid build. Has that old school “ting” sound. Material is heavy. Only thing is it didn’t come with an Allen wrench to fit the hole to install this product. Come with rubber anti slip to keep the bell in a tight grip.

I ordered the authentic Japanese bell of this style, then ordered this one. Have to say that I couldn't tell the difference. They both sounded quite similar. Nice clear, loud ring.

A lovely bell. The problems: a 2.5 mm hex head Allen wrench is necessary for installation(The online instructions say a “Phillips screwdriver”, which is nonsense.)Second problem when the dome top is loose enough so that the vibration makes it ring, the clapper becomes too loose to work. A solution -placing a bolt on the threaded stem between the clapper and the base This works for now.

I purchased a black colored bell for $3.99 at the time of purchase. For something this inexpensive I was pleasantly shocked at the quality of the bell. It has a crisp clear sound that is more than enough for a bicycle commuter like me. The installation was remarkably easy and the tape on padding that comes with the bell cushion it very well on the handlebar of the bike. It does use a metric sized hex head screw to hold it in place and I do recommend getting the right sized wrench. I initially only had SAE hex wrenches and almost stripped out the screw head. Fortunately my neighbor had the right size and things went like clockwork after that. I highly recommend this product for anyone not wanting to spend a small fortune on such a simple product.

Truth be told, my old Bell branded "ring ring" bell worked but the vibrations would make it jiggle and rattle so it was just too annoying. The Himiway bell does not rattle. In fact you have to really wind the hammer down or else it won't make contact. Because of that, it's better to orient it sideways so you can push down on the trigger and the sound goes forward. If you put it in the horizontal orientation, it will be frustrating.
