My employees bang the nail gun around pretty good. Holds up to the abuse.

Been using this gun almost 6 months now and it still works like new. Solid gun, dropped it many times from about 30inch from my table onto cement floor. I fire around 8000 nails a day, the only thing that bugs me is the hardened plastic between the trigger and gun sometimes pinches my trigger finger but I've been getting use to it and it doesn't happen to often anymore. Loading nails is easy do to the holder thing angles it self for easy reload. I've had a few jams and once in a while it will miss fire but I don't think it's the gun. My work uses really cheap, soft nails. So cheap when you try and pull a nail out the head comes off. I don't mind shooting them crappy nails because I feel when I do get a jam it doesn't hurt my gun as much. Before this gun I used the Bostitch for a year. I feel the Bostitch 3 ich is one pound heavier than the Hitachi. Update July 31 2020 still works great, had to replace bump stop, I bet it sat around before I bought it for a while dried out but after replacing that and a spring we good.

This gun is by far the best A series gun and probably about the most powerful nail gun out there for driving larger nails. I use this full time in my shop building crates driving 3-1/4" nails through 2x6 decking into 4x4 runners. This has serious power to drive them in and rarely have to get a hammer to pound any nail heads down that are sticking up. Ordering another one of these bad boys today!

Not to impressed. It shoots ok. Still not as good as the original a2 tho. The rafter hook is cheap and broke after about a month. Plus this new nail gun is heavier.

The NV83A5 is a real pleasure to use as it snaps those 3.25" nails flush with ease...It weighs 9 lbs. but this weight is an attribute for full power 3.25" framing nailers as it dampens the recoil...As advertised it's built to copy the 83 nailers from the 1980's which exhibit speed, power and endurance by being built so well....It might seem a little pricey but when you consider how well it drives nails along with how long it will last, the price is fair...kd

This gun is head and shoulders above the A2 and A4. If you really frame and need speed this is the gun. This is the way the Hitachi gun went 20 years ago. Well worth the extra $100. I'll be replacing all my framing guns to the A5.

BadAss. Blows stick framers out of the air and water.Spend half the time reloading nails. Specifically superior laying and hanging sheathing. Accepts a wide range of coil nails as well.
