Didn't know this exist. Easy to do and save a old working speaker.

I had recently discovered an old JL 10w3 that I had forgotten about while cleaning out the folks attic. The problem was that the foam surround had dry rotted and was pretty much non existent.I knew the sub was hitting nice and hard the last time I had it hooked up, and it had been in the attic untouched for over 10 years. I was pretty surprised when i did a search for foam surround repair for my specific sub, yeah very specific, 10w3 v2 d4 (10w3 series, version 2, dual voice coil 4ohm).Ordered this kit, followed the instructions when it arrived and the sub is like brand new all over again. I have been jamming a Memphis audio single street reference 12in and wouldn't trade it for a JL no matter what.I love JLs and will always have a spot for them, but them Memphis might hit harder all things equal. This kit is exactly as described and has not been anything but perfect so far.

Made a good speaker most people would a thrown out, like new again. Having a extra hand doesn't hurt for keeping the cone inline and centered. Really happy with the foam kit and would highly recommend.

Update as of 2015-10-12:Even though the material felt a little flimsy compared to the original foam on my JL W6 speaker, it still works great and delivers great bass response. Definitely a solid solution and was much cheaper than buying a new speaker. It works ok and the glue bonds fine and the instructions were clear... however the material is pretty flimsy overall and is nothing like the original foam that was used in my JL W6 speaker so it doesn't give me the confidence to think they will last long. For the average speaker it should be fine, the W6 subwoofer is really heavy-duty so maybe they should offer a stronger foam edge kit for them... that would be nice anyway.

Very messy, would not do it again. Speaker look horrible. Sure it is my fault but I am usually very handy and careful but not good enough for this.

Used this to replace the dry-rotted surround on my 10W6 and it works great now! The simplyspeaker's surround is very similar to the old original surround, the glue is strong and high quality, not much else to say.I have a lot of left over glue, which might be useful to glue other things like cloth, wood, or plastic. The glue is kind of like runny hot glue (except you don't heat it up). It remains runny and dries slowly if you bead it on a surface without spreading it, and if you spread it, the glue will become thick and dry quickly.Best of all, this saved me a lot of money by not having to replace the whole subwoofer!
