4mm thinner is the shifting wire tube (inside is the vertical wire, "vertical wire" is characterized to have small shrinkage ratio,
so as to be used for shifting speed to guarantee shifting accuracy.

This set contains enough parts to replace all the brake and shift cables on a bicycle, except shifter inner cables, which need to be purchased separately. The cable lengths and diameters were the same with the product description. The outer brake cable I received had rust on the cut ends, although it hadn't gone inside and trimming about 1cm from both ends made it usable. The outer shift cable felt less flexible compared to the cables I usually use. I think it is because of the stiffness of the PVC outer shell.
